I have finaly found what seems to be a great accessory mount, it is a (Techmount controle mount). It bolts on using the existing holes on either the brake or clutch side. It looks great and is fully adjustable for just about any height or angle depending on the application.
My only proplem is that I bought it to mount my radar detector which is a Solo S2. It mounts great and looks great but of course is completely useless because I can't tell when it sounds. The screen lights up but during daylight it can't be seen. I do know that there are motorbike specific models that have bright a red light that mounts sepperately but I would like to find a way to utilize the Solo S2.
Any suggestions as to how I could accomplish this would be greatly appeciated. I would like to stay away from an earphone as I have found them very uncomfortable and I hate the cords. (this could be a tall order)

I have the same setup. Solo 2 and Techmount. You can hook up a earpiece to the solo 2. Or get a Screamer, which is a device that sounds a very loud warning signal that you can hear while wearing a helmet and ear plugs.
Then there is the H.A.R.D. system which a is a LED light you attach to your helmet and lights up when the Solo 2 goes off. With that setup you'll need to hard wire your Solo 2 to your electrical system (easy). Good Luck.

Thanks for the info, I like the idea of the LED light on the helmet, how does this system connect to the detector and how do I hard wire the unit to the bike.

    H.a.r.d.

The system is wireless. You'll have to get a wire that connects the Solo S2 to your electrical system of the bike. Check out Legalspeeding.com and Motorcycleradar.com. That will explain it better than I can. Cheers

I checked the system out on the web, it seems to be running around $160. Does this sound correct. If not do you know where it could be bought cheaper.

Yeah. That sounds right. It is expensive. A freind of mine has the H.A.R.D system and really likes it.

pics on the site aren't that good

I went to the site but they don't really give you the full picture of what your bike is going to look like when It's mounted. I know some products don't do that on purpose cause the products look fine stand alone but not good mounted. like the "carbon" stickers on ebay. they look nice in the pictures but I saw some mounted on a new gsxr and it was the ugliest thing ever! I'd just rather see is on a bike before I spend money on it ya know.

The Techmounts are nice. I think they are some of the best looking mounts around.

I suggest the Vizalert LED system over the HARD system. Vizaert is what I use and the benefits over HARD system are worth it...plus its a cheaper price tag. HARD System in not water proof, does not show the differant radar bands via LEDS only 1 red LED, the Vizalert has add on options like the popular M25 laser jammers. Take a look at them also I think you will go with the vizalert system instead.

the tecmount is a awsome mount but if u dont have enough money to buy it u can build a mount youre self out of a piece of broom stick and cut one end at a 30 degree angle and cut a thin piece of ply wood for the flat piece to mount the radar dector on it hey it works and its free
