Heard of it but thought the calander would just start at the begining again. Then again remember Jehovah's Witness friends of my parents were convinced and had proof the world would end in 1975.

I may be wrong, im not a scholar, and also may be unsure of the time period you are speaking about; but revelation speaks about 1 single world government.

At the end yes, but before that Revelations speaks of the beast coming from the sea with ten little horns (kings/kingdoms) and an eleventh that comes up to rule over them.

I just had a reality check today with this. The bank is unwilling to modify my mortgage loan so I can keep my house. I'm not gonna lose it as long as I keep my job, but what about the thousands of people losing theirs? The government made a program to help this but the people with the money don't want to participate or it was too little too late (Freddi Mac, Fannie May).

I think society is about to reset, no jobs, no money, everything will soon change. Life is too automated and convenient, it must all become simpler and less dependent. (dependent? what? next comes bondage)

The wisest investment will soon be oil and bullets. May the strong survive.

The U.S.A. has already fallen. Some apparently haven't got the memo.

    Trillions in debt
    Patriot Act
    Presidential Signing Statements
Banking Elite (Fed, Goldman Sachs, et al)and corporate powerbrokers now calling the shots
Lobbyists writing legislation for corrupt Congress
Privatization of the military and intelligence organizations, for profit, not the well-being of the Republic and its citizens
A two party system where one has a hard time finding any real differences between them (maybe because both party's politicians get their campaign contributions from the same buyers, er, I mean donors.

I could go on and on, but if you're a thinking person, you get the picture. Plenty of books and newspaper articles on the subject, not to mention all that is available on the web.

I think he is referring to all of the sourced out aspects of today's military. Companys like Blackwater(or something like that) that take care of everything from security details to kp duty.

I seem to be participating on a forum with a very scary bunch of people...

It is possible to change, and for the country to survive, but we need to vote into office people with sound ideas on what's wrong and how to fix it. I didn't like either candidate much, but preferred the one with fewer silly platitudes about change. Couldn't get the JibJab video out of my head.

To survive, we need to figure out what to do with the enormous displacement of workers by automation of factories and phone customer support and point of sale devices and accounting and typing pools, etc, that has occurred and continues to occur.

We need to create an education system that doesn't assume that everyone has the intelligence or inclination to benefit from a traditional High School and College path to professional employment.

We need the professionals to provide their services directly to the needy at no cost in return for tax breaks, rather than paying the government $1 for 10 cents worth of inferior services for the needy, while distancing the rich from the poor in the process.

We shouldn't need to tax people who make less than poverty level wages at all.

We need to have more respect as a society for people who are tradesmen and teachers, as well as for those who work as manual laborers, instead of thinking it is only the professional class that deserves respect.

We need to stop thinking people are equal in anything but the eyes of God and before the law. We need to stop confusing equal opportunity with some actual equality.

And we need to stop voting for people that don't understand what's wrong and so they cannot have plans to change things for the better.

Obama became president because he championed the idea that he would change things from the way they were under Bush. He offered the poor and the minorities the hope that he would make their lives better and he offered the wealthy liberals and conspiracists the freedom from guilt over foreign wars and that he would improve the image of the Ugly American abroad.

It amazes me that the people we seem to have as choices seem so limited. They don't understand what's wrong, so they have no real plans or platforms, they have platitudes.

It will not and cannot change. Democracy is a flawed form of government. It can only last untill the people realize that they can vote themselvs money and power.

the problem is human nature. Humans are selfish. These are the people that are in power and they prevent anyone from gaining any power that will threaten their control of the people.

why is it that the government cannot lealgially fine any company more than 25 thousand dollars a day. It would cost oil companies millions per day to properly dispose of waste. instead they pump it into the ocean and pay the 25 k bribe to the government. saving millions of dollars per day.

politicians hide behind the law. in doing so it gives them power over the military.

why does the government limit how much money someone can be given for campaining. a poor man will NEVER gain any upper lever offices. it costs millions to campain. and they will put a poor man in jail if he attempts to gain enough money from his supporters to successfully run against someone that has the wealth in his pocket to run.

every year or presidential term 545 or so people make a national budget. and then talk about how the budget they have just made is unbalanced. yet after they vote themselvs a raise. they control their own salary.

furthermore. voting is a scam. it was proven, clear and publisised that bush did not win the election. yet he was made the president ??? the following 6 months he bankrupted this nation. and then in his 2nd term he took a 6 month vacation in his ranch.

and then on 9/11 we got attacked by a private group somewhere around irak. so in responce bush attacked sadam hussein. ????? that doesent even make sence. some homeless bum calls me a name down the street so i turn around and punch my wife. *pssssst* he has oil.

The fact is that politicans vote in laws to secure profit for themselvs. this is why democracy will NEVER be a perminat solution.

    furthermore my spelling sucks.
