Thanks for the heads up on that Aprilla! While I am in love with my VFR I have been in the market for a supersport V4 for sometime. Maybe this is where I should start looking if Honda continues to prolong an RVF or a VFR 1000! I'm not too sure about the pipe on that RSV however.

P.s. Won't be selling the VFR anytime soon!!!!

I am praying for the liter to show up in 2010. I may have to jump ship to BMW (K1200S) to get my sport-touring jollies once I wear out my 03 ...can you wear out a VFR?

    lear,
Have you checked out the '09 BMWs?
They have bumped up the K1200s to a 1300 and it's suuuuweet!
I'd happily jump ship for that bike............(if I had the $$$$).

    the Viffer is so versatile.
commute to work during the week, take a day off, ride it to the track, thrash the crap out of it, and ride it home. get up and ride to work the next day.

    can't beat captain America.

there were 3 viffers at NJMP on October 13. good to see others.

I couldn't agree with you more. I waited and waited b/c the my local dealer said "Oh yeah, it's coming, possibly in a 1000cc, hang tight" So, I waited until this month and bought an 07. I am glad I did; besides, honda will need at least a year or two to work the bugs out, and the 7th gen. will probably be at a higher price point.

I am extremely happy with my Candy Red '07.

Gotta love black on black - but then again, I'm a little partial to that combination. :)

Bring back the gear driven cams , lose the VTEC and I would consider buying it.

ugh. disappointment honda. Way to put in no work whatsoever. My next bike will be a CBR (I am keeping the VFR too). I love my VFR, but damn, have some pride and at least give it some cool new features or lose a few pounds every few years.

PS. Everyone rags on VTEC. You need to ride my '07. No VTEC weirdness, super smooth, super torque, it is terrific. I can put around when I want and I can goose it when I want. To each their own!

I have dealt with the crappy Honda cam chain tensioners in the past and The Gear driven cams solved that problem and then Honda goes and destroys the best design ever built by using Cam chains/tensioners again and adding a gimmick called Vtec.

Sorry but I am a Gear driven addict, hell even my ford F 150 300 6cylinder has a gear driven system instead of a timing chain. LOL.

Seriously if Honda wants me to invest in a new VFR they will have to get rid of the Vtec and go back to gear driven cams.

The grab handles could be removed on my RWB and a plastic panel snaps in there. It looks pretty clean. I have all the bag frame on the tail, so that clean look is er, not available at the present time.... but I have the plastic bits.

I quick search reminds me my 87 VFR 700 is 487 pounds. Which is cool I guess since I have put on a few pounds too since 87. I didn't realize my new 08 was 540, in fact it was one of the last questions I asked before I left the dealer. No one knew or they weren't telling... .

On 27 December I was already for the black one. I think getting the gray one saved me a little over $1,000. I was told the 09's wouldn't be in till Spring.

    Sale price was $9,369.

I know this thread is a little old, but, I'd thought I'd share. I've got VFR fever but don't own one. Went to local dealer and asked about the 1000cc or V5 rumour, and there is no word yet, not until September. The sales guy told me if Honda does not change anything and offers the same color option as they did the prev. year (in this case, black) then this indicates 1 of 2 things: 1. discontinuation of the VFR, or 2. a new generation is coming in '11.

I love the RWB, but just love the VFR, period! Should I wait it out or just say f*ck it and get one, regardless of what the future holds for us.

    Old thread revival.

Anybody knows where I could find a downloadable shop manual for a 2009?

The link in the first post doesn't work anymore.

    Thanks!
