Just want to say greetings to the 6th gen massive

Defected from my previous 2001 VFR Fi-1 :bandito: and now the proud owner of a 2006 VTEC

What can I say... I'm addicted to 6600rpm :peace:

Just picked up the bike yesterday with only 3.9k miles, and just got home after a 200 mile ride home through the night. Just buzzing right now! Off to bed.

Glad you are so happy with the switch. I had the opportunity to ride a 6th gen of another member the other day, and I will say, I did like the VTEC. It reminded me of a 4-barrel carb opening the secondaries......DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    Keep the rubberside down brotha!

Glad you like it. Would have sucked if you didn't right? I don't even notice it much anymore to be honest. It's just there. Enjoy the ride!

Thanks guys for the welcome :cheersaf:

Initial impressions that 'sold' me on it before I went looking for one:
it's got a better (read, sharper) front end, and the back feels keener to follow. I had my 5th gen setup professionally setup for me, but despite this it just seemed more disconnected between front/rear compared to the vtec. Overall, the vtec is sharper, and although it is no lighter - it feels lighter and more nimble. Bonus!

Engine: the 5th gen is torquier low down and it feels like it has a bigger/lazier engine. The 6th gen spools up quicker, feels like it has lighter internals, and the intake is far more aggressive willing you on to wind her up through that magical 6.6krpm... and then all hell breaks loose as the valves switch, note hardens into pure race car... yeehaha~! The vtec is addictive, easy to know when you're going to press on, but it's equally happy to cruise around. You can go slow when you want with the vtec, and you the engine feels totally unstressed. Nice. The 5th gen was just a great great linear engine, but it lacks the zing of the 6th.

Brakes: the 5th gen was mediocre at best. 6th gen linked brakes brilliant around town and inspiring at most other times. The ABS is a total godsend and they haul you down as proper stoppers should.

Tranny: the 5th gen was clunky and way too easy to miss shifts. The 6th gen is light, smooth, and when pressing on feels like the gears are perfectly chamfered to mesh smoothly together. Definitely a big improvement on the 6th.

Looks: no contest, the 6th dons a pair of Armani shoes, while the 5th wears Birkenstocks.

Dash: call it a tie, the orange LCDs create nice symmetry, but I still like old fashioned needle clocks. The VFR still sets standards for creating a nice place for riders to spend time in traffic or being at 'road traffic control'.

Sorry it took me so long to join the vtec militia... there's no turning back!

    Photos soon!
