I didn't realy do a fender eliminator as much as I really cut it down to size. I also got a seat cowl from e-bay and I just put on a D&D can yesterday. It sounds pretty good. I don't know what else I will do other than maintenance in the future, though I may have a custom mid-pipe mad eto run the D&D can up high.

On any bike I own the seat is the first thing I notice or not,(if my ass burns, well - then the ride is not fun) followed by the grips - automatic no brainer (ProGrip 669's rock), and then the windscreen (turbulence or not?) Oh yeah - tank protector is an automatic too. After all that then I worry about performance mods.

Hmmmm..... First mod. buying all the parts that where missing, cracked, broken etc. Second, brakes & tires; third custom paint or a barnett scorpian clutch depending on if the clutch goes before I get the paint( slips pretty good when hammering on it from second to third, some one told me this is a normal Honda thing but I don't like it) Fourth, mount PIAA light in place of the stock mirror that all I can see in them any way is my shoulders & the shoulder of the road. Fifth, bar end mirrors; sixth custom exhaust to get rid of my dated Kerker. After that will be suspension mods, maybe the CBR F2 components. Then I'll be board with it & sell it @ a loss, because I'm dumb like that on occasion.

First thing I got was the hardbags. Definitely planned on taking some trips. Then I realized I really needed a better seat, so that was next. I looked at convertibars and wanted them but the price was too much for me at that time, I eventually got them. very happy with all the comfort mods.
I did try a laminar lip (thought it just looked out of place on the bike). Then tried a double bubble, eventually went back to stock and actually am quite happy with the looks and am also alright with the wind factor, I think I will stay with the stock screen. I made a real nice exhaust system using the stock up pipe, cut off the stock cans, a little welding and BAM!
Here is a photo with the bike set up for commuting and daily riding.

Thanks for posting the photo. Very nice looking ride!

One question though... you said you bought hard bags but it looks like you've removed your passenger pegs (which is where my luggage attaches). How do you mount them on your bike?

Here's a photo of mine where you can see the attachment point just above the rear pegs.

I just put the peg bracket back on. I can have the whole thing back on in about 10-15 minutes when hardbags are called for. I just mostly ride alone, so I removed the rear pegs for normal day to day riding. If I want to take my son or daughters for a ride I just throw the rear pegs back on (about 5 mins.).

Good to know! I does look very clean with it off.

It took me so long to put my hard luggage frame on (lining the bolt holes up was a bear) that I doubt I'll be taking it on and off!

    Hey AZVifferGuy,

What did you put on for gel grips? I am looking for a pair as well?

    Thanks,

    Steve,

I put on a pair of Progrip Gel Grips model 699. Extremely easy, especially if you have an air compressor handy to lift and separate the old grips and to install the new ones!

First went with a set of hard bags,
got them fro David Silver Spares (about half the price at honda)
then last week picked up a Puig Double Bubble windscreen.

now I'm looking at a set of bar risers and a seat.

    any suggestions?

On my '98 I added Heli-Bars but I am wondering if anyone here has tried Heli-Bars with GenMar risers under them. If so, would everything clear the windshield? Would you have to modify brake lines and wiring? Ergonomically it would be great!

I didn't vote, because my first accessories when I got my VFR don't appear on your list.
    1) Aerostitch two piece suit
    2) New Arai helmet replaced old F1
    3) AGV sport gloves replaced cruizer gauntlets
    4) Rider Warehouse combat tour boots
    5) Chase Harper magnetic tank bag and soft saddle bags.
Bike, with exception of wear and maintenance parts, is bone stock. Stock grips got replaced to a set of Lockhart solid rubber ones. I don't like any finned or gel bits, a firm feel but slip free is my preference.

    1. I basically dremeled off the monster fender and said the hell with the fender eliminator package (did not see the need).

    2. Slapped on a tank protector.

    3. I am getting ready to buy a slip on exhaust. She's like my first high school girlfriend...way too quiet. I just posted a thread asking for opinions about it, guessing I should have posted it in this poll section. (sorry moderators!)

    In order:
    Exhaust- Staintunes
    Tank Protector- CF
    Hugger-CF

Now out of funds for mods, will probably wait until suspenders are worn out and replace with quality aftermarket setup.
