I'm in VA and have my CCW permit. I almost always carry, bike or no bike. I usually wear an IWB holster and carry my SD40 subcompact. Sometimes I carry my PX4 40, but it's a little big for my body to conceal completely with summer attire. The SD40 sub is unnoticeable.

I build custom 1911s and carry one of them, 5" full size gun strong side IWB. Though with the gloves and leather jacket and all I doubt I could actually draw it on the bike, at least not in a timely fashion.

If i carry on my bike, i usually carry my Glock 27 in my inside jacket pocket. It is just as a last resort, but i feel better knowing its always there.

?? Is this something new? I carried in D.C. a year ago, including into buildings like the Smithonian with no issue. I was checked, ID'd, and passed.

Also the feds passed a law a couple years ago that allow us to carry concealed in any of the 50 states. In Utah I'm not required to have an actual CCW, my police ID is my CCW, and is accepted nationwide.

Nope, I'm in Colorado, thank God. I was in California as military and though gun restrictions for them are [slightly] less they are still ridiculous. The fact that CA considers anything greater than a ten round magazine "high capacity" is absurd.

Colorado is pretty loose when it comes to gun laws. In nearly every county, to my knowledge you are able to carry a firearm on your hip, have it loaded, round in chamber, safety off; all that good stuff is left to the carrier. There are certain places that you are not allowed to carry at all, open or concealed; elementary/middle/or grade schools, no publicly funded institutions (but at all schools you may leave your firearm locked in a compartment of your vehicle with the ammo separate from it, private businesses unless allowed, ect.

Carrying concealed but with no ammo in it? Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Some states are definitely different. It cost me about $150 to get mine but no course was required as prior military.

Colorado is the same. I believe that it is accepted in about 26 states. If I remember correctly it was one of the highest numbers. Utah is about 28 states I think. Really awesome that the law is written that way.

Custom 1911's? Awesome! Right now I just have an H&K USP 40C. Some day I'd love to pick up a 1911. Have any pictures or a web site?

    Hi,
I have had a CCW since the program started in the early 90's. So far Fla. is still a free state.

The state recently changed the renewal to 7 year period, very nice. I carry a Detonics mini-1911 in the tank bag., (.45ACP Winchester Rangers in the mag)

I keep trying to come up w/ a way to carry my Krink92 pistol in the side bag, but the mag is too big.
(or the bags are too small) Accurate up to 4 ft. , but the noise will scare them!

I applied for, and received my lifetime CCW in Indiana this spring. I am currently looking at a new carry pistol, XD sub-compact 9mm, after renting a few at the range for a test drive. My current KP95(DAO) is great for home, but not convent to carry with its large frame. The laws in Indiana have been becoming more CCW friendly in the past couple years.

I have a CHL and carry a G19 in a IWB holster. I don't leave home without it.
I wish we were open carry.

I've had my carry permit in tennessee for a couple years now. If you read the tn law you don't have to carry your weapon concealed. If you want to have your gun in a holster out in the open that's fine. (I find that kind of freaks people out):rambo::rambo:

We had a good ol' boy a couple of months back shoot it out with two would be robbers in a liquor store in nashville. He killed one and the chief of police was on the news saying he wished more citizens would carry guns. :gun3:

I carry a Sig .380. Just doing my civic duty.:cheersaf:

You planning on shooting somebody? Why do you need a gun on a bike? Bike jacking doesn't seem to be very prevalent and you wouldn't have time to get it out of your bag anyway. I have ridden with a couple of guys that carry, but we ride some roads that are 4 miles from Mexico and are well traveled by drug and human smugglers. Needless to say, we never had a problem in several years - the guns started to stay at home.

I am not planning on shooting anybody, i'm just prepared. I feel i have an obligation to protect myself and others from death or great bodily injury.

I dont carry my gun in a bag and i will not shoot from a moving vehicle.

Its just a last option that i wish to have.

    Thats just my reasoning.

I use my bike for more than just joyriding. When I get off my bike I'm not always at my house. I might be someplace such as the mall where random shootings occur. I'm not some paranoid militia type nor do I think Tennessee is a dangerous place to live but If off duty police officers feel the need to carry a gun with them then what does that tell you about the world we live in.
Just my opinion...(which is always right:laugh:)

As a nurse, I carry a stethoscope. As a firefighter I carried an ax. When working on my car I use a wrench. Get the picture? I prefer to use the right tool for the right job.
When I travel I carry many types of tool due to the desire to be prepared for whatever may happen.
One of those tools is a firearm.
