Hello gang, joined a while back and finally saying howdy. Been riding for 35 years and picked up my first vfr for $5, yes $5 :). Turned out to be an imported 1992 ROW 750 version. She had sat for three years and did not run, been tipped over on both sides and was a might rough shall we say around the edges with 34000 km on the odo. After 60 hours of bench time she is about ready for pictures, Lets see, rebuilt calipers, master cylinder, front forks, carbs, (full dis-assembly and soak), recovered seat, steering stem, cables, checked valves, (ok), repaired plastics, polished F1s pipe, repainted fairings metallic black and other assorted maintenance items attended to. So far I am just over $300 in parts into the bike. Runs like a watch, sound is unreal, never heard a bike like this V4. First 100 miles put on her on Monday with no issues, just that bugs in the teeth grin when I got back. I'm hooked on the VFR and now know why so many others are so fond of this Honda.

Here you go, right before my first test ride. This version has a clock, center stand and a remote fuel control valve in the left fairing. Still have to buff out the four coats of clear over metallic black paint. I have the lowers but left them off to allow access to the adjustable bits. -Lee

Lee what a steal. The bike looks great. Lets see more pictures once you get her buffed out and suited up with the lowers.

Thanks for the comments and the welcome. I found this bike quite a challenge mechanically to rebuild. Honda really poured engineering into this design to pack as many details into such compact packaging. Layers and layers of sub assemblies and egads the fairing bits and bolts. But the riding experience is in a different class from the other bikes I have owned. XS11/1000Katana/GS1150/FZ1/RD350 and a host of smaller twins and fours This is the first motorcycle I have ridden that really begs me to put a knee down, that straightlines down the road with no vibration at what ever speed legal or maybe not that I wish to travel and sounds like a 55 chevy with a Jesel gear drive at stoplights. I can only imagine what the newest VFR's are like with another 15 years of improvements. But then I am preaching to the choir.

    Thanks

Hmm, if you run into any VFRs in that price range again, I can probably scrounge up even $20. Hell, it might even be worth a trip back to MS. I used to live in Tupelo years ago...

    Welcome to the site.

I will post up a few pictures this weekend of the various bits that are different for you. This bike has integrated turn signals in the rear fairing, a different undertray, clock, flash to pass lever on the left handlebar, the headlight lens is a different pattern, H4 bulbs standard, absolutely no emissions devices, remote fuel knob and even a different frame and engine vin code than the us versions. It has made parts research a bit interesting at times. Tupelo is @ 45 minutes from where I am now in MS. Get to ride the trace from time to time, a great ride.

Thanks for posting the photos. It answered some questions i had reference to the difference between European bikes and ours. I didnt know about the clock, or the remote petcock.
