The DB does great for me at 6'3". Either way, it's a huge improvement over stock. Greatly reduces the buffeting that made riding the VFR miserable.

If you can't stand an ounce of air touching your delicateness (and want to look really ghey) get the ST. Everyone else, get the DB. :rambo:

Try ZGOutlet.com to order. That's directly from Zero Gravity here in SoCal. They're legit, just ignore the jinkyess of their website.

I am 6'1" and long in the body. I stick up above my ZG DB where the roar is louder than with the stock screen. I actually prefer the stock screen, being that I cant get behind either without Hayden-like contortions. I CAN get above the blast on the stock screen. Haven't looked at anything else, but Im not big on looking through any screen.
    Good hunting.

    Hi,
I used to have a double bubble from MRA which was quiet well. It broke last time I fall. I bought a Puig double bubble, which doesn't protect enough. I'm 1.72m. Finally, I use an Ermax high windscreen, which is not as beautiful as the 2 others, but protect much more.

You can see examples by pictures on Rfman site. Windscreens are called "bulles" in french. But you don't need to speak french to watch picts!

5th generations are at the end, including my old windscreens.

I have 3 windscreens for my bike, stock, Targa 2" raised lip sport touring & ZG Double Bubble. I ran the Targa for 4 years until I purchased the ZG on a whim for $40 & free shipping. When I made the switch, it made an extremely noticable difference. Mind you, I am only 6" compared to your 6' 4" but it was a no contest win for the ZG.

    See post #17 below.

my opinion: the ZG DB is best looking but will not deflect enough. the fit and finish is so-so also.

the Givi ST will deflect it high enough but is kind of ugly. you don't notice it when riding, though. I have had both. The fit finish on the givi is better than the ZG DB.

I currently am back to stock again but have thought of grabbing another Givi for when I ride a long way.

Here's my bike with the givi:

I used the zg st for almost a year (about 10k miles,) and then switched back to stock. I'm 6ft tall and am getting less wind noise with the stocker.

I may actually cut the st down to see if I can get even less wind noise. My triumph daytona has a very low screen and is really quiet. Maybe the vfr can also be quiet.

    Good luck.

So, in looking at the service manual....it appears as if I have to take the mirrors and the upper cowl completely off to get to all of the bolts for the windscreen. I still don't have the new windscreen yet, but it looks like it may be a pain in the ass to install. Any tips on this easy install?

Um - you dont have to take the upper cowl off. Yeah the mirrors need to be unbolted and undo the screws on the inside of the cowl to get the trim covers off. The windshield can be finagled off from there. Installation is the reverse. The toughest part is again finagleing the new shield into its location. Finesse is the watch word. It takes me 30 minutes tops.

Okay, I installed it....like mello dude said, it was a really easy install.

I don't see much of a difference at all. The ZG DB seems to come up higher than stock, but it has a smooth edge on it, where the stock one had a thick "lip" for lack of a better word. When I say it "comes up higher" I mean the windscreen itself looks to come up a bit higher, but the wind seems to deflect in almost the exact same place.

Overall, I'd rate this windshield as an appearance modification, not a functional modification.

Hey Glockem.....I've got the Zero Gravity ST installed here on my '07. I ordered mine direct from Zero Gravity's website. As you can see, I ordered the clear.

You had the same experience I did with the ZG DB windscreen. I removed the stock one to replace it with the ZG DB hoping to deflect more wind (as they are designed to do) and the Zero Gravity basically made Zero Difference in wind deflection and I thought created more turbulance than the stock screen...a definite case of form over function.

I also have a ZG (SR style) on my ZRX1200 and I honestly think ZG windsreens are not as good as a lot of people make them out to be. I had to send two screens back to ZG b/c of flaws in the screen for my ZRX. They ended up telling me the defect was on all of the screens for this model b/c of how they had to tool it. They ended up polishing out the flawed area the best they could (even though it was still not perfect). The only up side to this is they ended up giving me the windscreen for free. I think Givi and Puig screens are better quality...for what it's worth.

Well, there is a dealer on eBay that sells the smoke ST for $73, and EMA in Cali sells them for $80 I believe. I just can't decide b/w the smoke and or the clear. Tough choices, I must tell you.:party2:

It seems that windshields are very much a personal taste item. Everbodys experience is different even with the same shield. I'm 5'10" and find the DB deflects the air in a sweet spot for me. Yeah there is a bit more turbulence, but its acceptable. The stocker deflects it lower for me. Sometimes thats what I want.

If your taller, chances are you may have a different experience.

BTW - great pics -Acma29 - do you have websites to purchase those shields?

The yellow RC46A is mine. I tested few different windshield. Now, I'm using a smoked Ermax high.

You can find pictures of different double bubble windshields on Rfman site. He is member here but post much more on the French VFR site.
He asked to members to send him picts and made this page for RC46 and RC46II.
    RFm4n - GGaaazzzzz!!!!

I am sure that if you have picts took from the same angle of a different windshield, he'll be happy to get them.
