    Anyone know if the 2006 ecu will work on a 2004 ?? I want my VTECH to come on at 6500.. What is the price of a new ecu ??

    I think it would probably work, but you are looking around $900 for a new ecu. You would be better off playing with a programmer and seeing what you can do.

    For the money (a new ecm thru bikebandit.com is a little over $800), you'd probably be better off buying a power commander.

    Compare the wire diagrams of yours and the 06. If they harnesses pin out to the same locations it should plug in and work.

    You will also have to deal with the fact that the fuel injectors are different.

    motec makes a very expensive unit that replaces the stock ecu and is programmable for fuel rate as well as v-tec engaugement,but the price,2000 usd.if you got that kind of money ,go for it.
