I thought I would pop in a say hi again. Apperently work has been gracious enough to unblock this site. Been rough season for me.....I broke my collarbone in June when the front brakes on my track bike froze at 100 mph setting up for a turn. Not so good. Bike got banged up but not to bad....mostly cosmetic.

Sadly, I can only report about 3100 miles on my VFR. I feel very ashamed with that low number.

On the up side, I'm going to take the total Control class this weekend in OKC. So she gets out of the garage...kind of.

Couple of pics from a ride I was on 2 weeks ago.

    Posin for the camera

It was too wet to get all the way off the bike

The fog lasted for 20 miles or so

    Anyway....hi again

Fog in Oklahoma? Learn something new every day... Glad you are on the mend, or mended that is.

Out of curiosity, any idea what caused the brakes to lock up?

There's even mountains (well...more like hills, they don't comapre to the Colorado Rockies)

Near as I can tell, one of the calibers froze under heavy braking. I got home, unloaded the bike, parked it in the corner of the garage and haven't looked at it since. I'm planning on spending the winter going thru the entire bike. Which is something I should have done when I first got it.

Basically, it was rider error. I was too busy focusing on the track, I didn't take time to get to know the bike. The catch is, it's a track only bike so it's tough to get to know it without on being on the track.
