I'm not much into photography, but I gotta admit, those are some damn nice pictures. If that doesn't motivate someone to get off their a** and go ride, I don't know what will. I'm out - going for ride!

I noticed that you went from a 6g to a 5g. Is this because you prefer the 5g, or do you just use 'em and dump 'em when it comes to bikes?

haha..I like trying diff bikes, lately I have not been so lucky(vtrom and fjr)..I made a major screw up a few yrs back and sold the 05 and bought a vstrom to go better 2 upping..gawd what a piece of!!...I was going on a big trip and needed a bike to take as wasnt going another inch on that thing! local guy had the 00 vfr.I grabbed it fast and went the next day.. Its been a keeper ever since(25000 miles later), and really really made it a pain to find a bike I like better.
As for prefer.. I liked them both! but I found out going backwards I prefer the engine much more in the 5g,we all know the whys, But I prefer the chassis in the 6g and the "NEW" part ...so its certainly a tie:)

That was probly my last good run this year tho, back to the snow next week!

You're throwing in the towel? I'm hanging tough. I still have at least another two weeks. Being my first winter with the bike, it didn't occur to me to purchase heated gear. Due to issues, I can't buy until next year. I'm still kicking myself.

Oh well, I'll thaw when I get to my destination.

By the way, I saw your little review of the Strom :bootyshake2:. Thanks for burning my retinas. What was it you hated so much about it? I myself have never been on one, but I'll buy a BMW Adventure or that Honda Vara-thing before I'll even dream of a Strom.

    haha...Yes you always thaw!!

.no, not totally done yet!! ..did 200 km today actually over same roads as last week, but this time there was snow in the ditchs up high!, my plates up on friday, but i got 2 weeks yet on the 900f..so I hope for a few more nice days...
I am close to getting back to work at the ski hill and that will end it!

    now...
as for the vstrom..jmo..you asked for it!!
I have never had that love it at all costs thing with my toys..so first, I hate the stuck in the bucket seat thing where I cant move, and the sit up and beg position, same as a cruiser..back to the sore back and arse! I ended that horror years ago when i sold my cruiser bike.no thanks for long rides!
But the worst thing, and one that ruined every ride is the brutal turbulence these things produce.eyeball rattling, helmet lifting crap!.the shield is just too far ahead and the thing just beats you to death..if you never rode a bike with clean air, you might not mind it. but wow, I have. the cure is either a shield so big you look thru it..whats the point? or remove it altogether...I tried a bunch of shields and none made much diff, tilting the stocker way back helped, but the only cure was just removing it..then it worked quite nice. The off road was no better than my UJM bikes. I was ok with the shield off, but couldnt stand the rest of it, so goodbye. besides the fact it was so $%^%^ ugly, had no nice sensations of any kind, kinda like riding a blender! Really the blandest thing I ever drove , cept for the hurricane it made!
So can i say anything nice about mine? yep..The engine is great, and the 2 up capability were very nice! ...nice eh?

gawd why did you remind me..i won't sleep tonight!!

hey, glad u enjoy em!..these pics and everyone else s that I love looking at will help me get thru the winter!! Looking at other guys trip pics is what got me to move out here in the first place 3 yrs ago!! ..I have NO nice pics of my first 30 yrs of riding till i got here! surprise:)

Vlad..Indianapolis home?? btw..since 1974 I have only missed the US nationals once up till the last 4 years! Been doing the bike trips now instead and Seattle is a lot closer now than indy was! I really had the time of my life there over the years..first time I was ever there didnt have a clue where i was, spent the nite in a tent under that water tower(if its still there) just across the street from the big speedway! Followed the race trailers out to Clermont in the morning and was set for life!!

    take care eh?
