Hi gang, I am new in the VFR world and was wondering where can I get carbon fibers with a nice mellow tone for an '06 VFR. Any info would be appreciated.

Leo Vince's slip on's sound sweet. Once I muster up enough cash gonna get a set for my 2002. Youtube (and guys's here) have links to the sound bites.

I just had a pair of Leo Vince Carbon Fibre SBK's (under seat mount) fitted. They assembled perfect and sound friggin awesome. They connect from the cat onward and cost me $aud1300-thats Australian mate. Their Italian made and as far as I know there is a base in America also.GOOD LUCK !!!!!

The Leo Vince Carbon's are an easy install. I know you said you wanted a mellow sound but you MUST take the baffles out! It's not as loud as you think and will make you laugh in your helmet the first time you roll on the throttle out of a fast corner. :thumb:

Here's mine and what it sounds like...

Hey Surfer, how did you remove the baffles? There's more to it than "broomstick in, baffle out."

Actually there isn't. There is a little screw that's removed right inside the end of the baffle and when you slide the broomstick in and give the top of the exhaust can a couple of taps the baffles come right out. Both sides together took no more than 3 minutes to remove the baffles.

Did you have issues with the baffle removal?

After I wrote to you, I did a little research and found a post about what a nightmare a guy had removing the baffles. I went to the garage, removed the goofy screws with vise-grips and pulled the baffles out with no problem. I don't know what the other guy was doing wrong, but he worried me. I giggled at how easy it was. They sounded pretty good, but I haven't had a chance to ride yet. Thanks!

    Hammer,
First let me say Welcome to VFRWorld!
    You have chosen wisely.
Second, the Leo's are also an excellent choice.
I have a set on my 06 and love them!
    I ordered them from Exoticsportbikes.com.
Mine came without the baffles, so make sure
you check before you try to remove anything.
check out my pics in the photo album.

    Nope, unopened and brand new.
I had the option to order without the inserts.

I have heard Chris2711's bike. The Leo's do indeed sound very nice with the nice side benefit of looking fantastic. The only thing I would add, I was quite surprised at how quiet the 6th Gen is compared to my Staintune equipped 5th Gen. The biggest sound difference is the engine on the 5th Gen is much louder. Not knowing much about acoustics, I would say having two cans instead of one is another part of the equation.

REMUS is another option for CF cans.

    KC-10 FE out...
