Hey guys, got a question. Trying to pick a new front tire for my 86 VFR, and I'm having trouble deciding what to get. 120/60 is spec for the CBR600F2 the wheel came off of, 120/70 is what I'm used to on all my other bikes, and I've seen a couple manufacturers who make a 110/70 that's very close in overall diameter to the original fitment (according to Dunlops diameter charts, anyway). Has anyone ever run a 110/70 radial on this setup? I know a lot of people online seem to complain about the 120 slowing the handling, I think the 160 in the rear has more to do with it, but that's just my guess. Any suggestions would be appreciated
I had a 17" wheel front on my -87 VFR (Kawasaki not cbr but still a 3,5-17 rim) and I did use a 120/70 and a 110/70 front tire. I did like the 110/70 much better. faster steering, and as I had a 160/60 rear on a 5,0 rim the profile mach front and rear was much better. I manage to use full tread front and rear whit a Pirelli Dragon Corsa front / Metzeler Z6 rear combo. Give the 110/70 a try, you proberly like it!
Thanks for the input, keny, I might just give it a try. I've about settled on Bridgestone BT016s for the bike, and I haven't checked if they have the 110 size, but Cycle Gear should start giving away free front Qualifiers come Thanksgiving so...
