Odd, still not sure how the wheels work.

It was intresting to note how much honda is talking about v4 engines considering only one bike in there line currently has it.

Some v4 changes may be in the wings.

although not sure i'm a fan of the look of that bike.

 

True, Honda only has one production bike with a v4. However, the MotoGP bike is an 800cc v4. The 990cc bike was a v5. Honda has put alot of R&D in to "V" motors. It can only be a matter of time before the race technology trickles down to production. I would love to see a production RC212V. If Ducati can sell out it's Desmo16 for $70k, I would think Honda could sell quite a few GP replicas for about half the price.

 

i though the VFR and the ST1300 were both v4 engines, just the ST was mounted sideways in the frame. could be wrong though

Nice knowing that it is just a concept vehicle. I like the way the front fairing blends to the tank in the way of the NSR. Not sure about the fiberglass on the suspension and wheels.
Kinda cool just knowing I don't have to hold my breath for it.

 

well cowaling for the wheel makes sence, the reason why our bikes have eopen wheels is due to rule regulations for racing.

a wheel with a cowel has less drag.

 

But how would it turn? I know it's just a concept.
I have seen ultra tourers(ala goldwing) that have covers on the disc and caliper.

 

Awwwwww shucks Honda fans. We couldn't bring you much new hardware for 2009, but look at the wonderful wacky stuff were working on. We promise, we're working on something to keep you interested. Stick around a little longer. We'll have a new VFR sometime this decade.

I do like the flow of the frame, engine, tank and tail. The headlight belongs on the chest of a Power Ranger.

Peel that fairing down to normal proportions and put real rubber on, you can start to see this happening.
I know it's a concept and isn't likely to see it's day, but elements of the design are pretty nice.

 

Well well looks like RVFR's Rumour date was bang on. :hump: although not quite what we hoped for.

yes dave, you are correct. the ST uses a longitudinal V4 1300 shaftdrive as opposed to VFR series transverse V4 chain driver.

that makes 2 production V4's.

 

Does everyone forget about the ST1300? That makes two. Plus there is the Goldwing that has a flat/V6. The "V" has not been forgotten.

I can't wait for a magnetic driven engine.
