I just switched back to stock from my GIVI smoke color screen. I'm seeing if the wind doesn't bother me cause I think the GIVI is too tall. I can tell a little difference so far, but it doesn't bother me much. The other screen looks pretty decent I guess, but I have seen pics on here on the double bubble that some people get and I think it is a little more cool.

Just got mine and it came with a Zero Gravity screen. It still sends the wind into my upper torso. Any suggestions on a screen with a lip that sends air over me (more for touring)?

okay, here's an update on using stock vs. the GIVI, just as you probably guessed, there is noticeably more protection with the givi. I also have noticed a couple other things, the wind noise doesn't seem as bad with stock vs the givi. this may be that the givi put the wind right under my helmet or something. i also noted that i have less wrist fatigue with stock because the wind seems to blow me back more. I should probably note that I use the raised heli bars instead of stock clip ons. But, on the minus side for stock, when I go fast, the buffeting (I think that's what it's called) has my helmet moving all over the place and seems to slow me down some unless I tuck in.

    Windscreen

I have a smoke Zero Gravity Sport Touring on my '03 VFR. It is a couples inches taller than stock and fits perfectly. I changed after installing the Heli Bars. Looks cool.

Unless you're running raised bars, I'd leave the stock screen...if your mission is better functionality. The stock screen hits it just enough to relieve wrist pressure and the airflow is remarkably smooth. I don't suffer from helmet buffet at all.

What sort of helmet do you wear?

If you just want some thing cooler, have it!

I guess there is good and bad to taking more air off of me. I already put Genmar risers on to relieve some stress on my hands and neck but think I may try the Helibars to set me even straighter. What can I say . . . I'm old. Anybody tried using both the Helibars and the Genmar riser? Do I have to change the cables if I use both?

Whoa! You're gonna be damn near perpendicular to the pavement! You're gonna run risers on risers? Is that even safe?

I'm all for comfort. It's what makes or breaks a ride for many. Good luck!

VIFFERMAN03 your 03 looks good with the zero gravity screen. how's the wind....what's the difference you notice from the stock screen? I really don't have an issue with the stock screen as far as wind it's the clear color I don't like......like the smoked look instead....it hides all the spider web lines you see on a clear screen.

I'm still running the stock screen but if I was going to take a trip, I'd probably switch back to the taller Givi screen. Looty, as for helmet, I wear a KBC urban assault. In the review I read, it did mention that it has a lot of wind noise, but it was pretty good bang for the bucks-wise. (new terminology there call me a lenguist(sp?))

I did both on a Busa I owned but it was still too far over for me. I may try the Helibars and if that works better then I'll try to sell the Genmars. Gotta be as comfortable as I can be. Had a Givi screen on the Busa as well and it helped some. Put the Laminar Lip on it as well and thought that was a waste of money. Didn't look good and didn't seem to deflect the wind as they claimed.

I wear a Shoei RF800. Not a problem with buffeting except at high speed if I don't tuck behind the screen, which it is if I am using my tankbag. I do find that the RF800 does have a fair bit of wind noise, so I try to use plugs on the hwy.

The HeliBars are pretty much a fixed height adjustment. I think it was 1 1/4" up and 1 1/8" back. The only minor adjustment is on the fork tubes. The advantage is not having to replace the stock cables and it stays neat. The Genmars have more horizontal and vertical adjustment, but from the pics I saw of a conversion, the cables looked very messy.

I want to switch my stock windscreen. Reason is it looks too tallish.. I want something little more compact and sporty. I shopped around a lot and came accross a few nice looking windscreen for older generations VFR's, unfortunately all the 6th generation aftermarket windscreens are a little too tall for a sportier look. If I don't find a shorty one for my 2002 VFR, i am going to cut off (dremel) about 2 inch from the top on my stock windscreen. I want the edge of the windscreen to be leveled up with the both corner plastics mounts. I am going after the looks, not worried about better wind protections. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Try Targa windscreens. they are shorter than the givi or zero gravity but have a little curve up top for wind protection. They come in all shapes and colors.

you can see it a little bit between these 2 ZG double bubbles.

Looked around a bit, but cant find any Targa Windscreen for 6th generation VFR. Your windscreen looks great and that is the kind of look I am after, just wished they made something like that for the 6th gen. Thanks.
