Thought id share with you guys a little storage unit i designed and had built to keep my gear neat and tiddy.

I used to keep everything in a spare bedroom closet, but some things have changed and needed that space for normal closet things.

Had a local cabinet maker put this together for me. Its made out of real wood, not particle board, and has a nice finished exterior.

Hey, that’s pretty nice! I'd love to do something like that in my garage. It would also help clean out the spare closet my wife is always commenting on. Oh yeah, I've got the same Set-Up boots, I use them as my commuter/everyday riding boots.

    Storage

I ended up with one of those garage closets from Home Depot. Has a rod for hanging, 2 doors (keeps out cats, friendly and otherwise), several shelves and a floor. Meets my needs.

Universal, workable and $90 I believe.

Yeah, i considered those, and have some similar ones. You can just see the edge of one of them next to this one. But i wanted something to fit the gear specifically, and NOT be made of press board. This unit is made from Maple, and is really quite stout !

That is just schweet!!! Thanks for the great idea. I've got a rickety metal tube thingy that I have about 200 lbs of gear hanging on that probably wont last much longer. Thanks for the idea.

Also take a look at my photo gallery for more examples of motorcycle gear storage solutions in a garage. My garage storage system keeps all of the riding gear well above the garage floor, so it won't get wet whenever I need to hose-out and clean the garage floor from time to time. High-and-dry.
