Hey there again wanted to put a question out to te 1st generation guys. My 87 700r's headlight is actin a bit screwy and I was wondering if it is a precursor to something else. Lately when I start the bike up the headlight will come on when the key is turned to on. When I hit the start button the light than blinks out. Turning it off and back on then doesn't relight the lamp. However, if I let the bike warm up for a minute or two, than tun off the bike and restart it the light then comes on and stays on. Is this something to do with that rectifier regulator thing or is there just a loose connection. The bulb is brand new, one of those bluish jobs. Does that have anyting to do with it. Any ideas are much appreciative. Thanks TL
Hello and welcome! Sounds like your starter headlight bypass switch might be sticking or corroded. I would take the handlebar switch assembly apart, clean it the contacts, make sure the switch is not sticking, and see if that fixes the problem.
Well all right then. I thought it might be the Fetzer valve. Serious guys, thanks alot. I'm doing it today. TL
