    Hey fellow metro atlantans,

Just thought I'd give you a heads-up that there is better gas availability in the Suwanee/Lawrenceville area. The best time to get gas is in early morning between 2 am and 9 am. After that there are gonna be some huge freakin' lines...

Oh yeah, you can say that... In my town over 10 gas stations are completely out. Instead of going a quarter mile to fill up now I have to ride about 15 miles to suwanee just to get gas. Thank god I still have a cage. I was running on fumes looking for gas and didn't have enough to make it all the way to suwanee so I had to drive my cage and fill up a 5 gallon tank for the bike. yeah, we're short on gas!

Check out this news article: Many factors combine to fuel gas shortage | ajc.com

The problem is that the hurricanes hit our gas supplies hard. I had to call off several bike rides because of that.

Had no idea this was going on down there. I can't watch TV cause soon as I sit down to do so, I fall asleep due to these damned back meds. Only reason I can do this computer thing is that I watch the computer while I remain active in the garage, sorting nuts and bolts in my shop, of all things, just to pass the time. Three months to go......

There is plenty of gas about 50 miles north of Atlanta on I-75... I grabbed 10 gallons of premium for the bike and the wife's Altima, and FILLED my truck up with regular.

Man, that sucks. Drive 50 miles for gas. I can only imagine how bad it would be here in SD if there was a gas shortage. Too many people in SoCal, and it would make it even a worse nightmare than Atlanta!

So Joey, is it because of gas stations not wanting to sell because of price restrictions, or what? I mean, everybody else around you has no problem.

Yeah it would really suck if in SoCal there was a gas shortage. Here in Atlanta some gas stations have lines over 20 cars long

There are two reasons for the shortage. One is that by law all the gas in georgia must be pretreated for cleaner emissions and that adds another step to the gas refinery process. Other states can receive gas as it is. The governer is stepping in and temporarily lifting the emissions requirements so we can get more gas.

Other reason is that we don't have enough reserves; we had been receiving gas "on demand" and when there's an interruption in the supply we have no backup. Stupid I know.

The gas situation is pretty bad all over town. My bike is still in the shop getting repaired and won't be finished for at least a week or more. Hopefully when I get it out gas will be plentiful and the weather beautiful.

    Regards,
    Rollin
