    Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd say HI! I'm new to the board, and relatively new to riding, only about a season or so under my belt . . . Just picked up a '85 VF700F for real cheap - for many reasons. It's a bit of a rat, most of the bodywork seems to have been removed the hard way by previous owners. Has a universal Purolator fuel pump (that I'm about to remove ala some of the posts here) and flaking black paint on the frame. Cleaned out the tank some, and about to clean the carbs soon. Also need to figure out a brake light issue (doesn't come on, bulb is fine) and turn signals. . . Eventually I'll try to make her pretty again . . . But here she is as of now. . .

Thanks for all the good information floating around here!

    Welcome aboard.
    Good luck on the carbs.
Hope you can get her a face lift as well.
The VFRs were not built to be naked bikes.

welcome to the site. there should be lots of people here good with the earlier bikes. we also keep the old texas VFR garage archives which might have some pertinent info. I know we have lots of members good with wiring that should be able to help you track down that light issue. probably just an open but i'm crap at wiring issues myself.

Welcome aboard. I can't believe how many of these old girls are coming out of the woodwork lately. Hope you get her cleaned up and running good.

Hey! Thanks for the support! I agree, they look best with the bodywork on . . . Resurrection is the plan for her, but I'm not a stickler for keeping everything factory stock. If there are more easily available parts that will perform the job as well or better, I'll consider them. I'm hoping I can have a little fun with her before the end of the KC riding season, and I'll work on her looks when I can safely ride her. To that end, I got her running enough to ride a few circles around a friend's parking lot the other day!

BTW Reg71, I haven't stumbled on the Texas VFR Garage archives yet, where can I find them?

    Thanks!
