    Dear Riders,

Please let me take a moment of your time to share with you a little about two close friends of mine that died on their VFR near Wellsboro PA Saturday 27th around 10am.

Michael and Cindy lived in Toronto Canada, and traveled extensively across North America for almost 20 years together riding two up. They, like many experienced riders, suffered a momentary break in judgment that led to a 45 mile an hour turn running too wide. They struck a mailbox and hydro pole and the police stated they died instantly.

The two were truly dedicated to the sport, after many years riding a Connie, Michael and Cindy were thrilled to get their first VFR this spring. It was a beautiful red 07 with low mileage, they were really excited and had added all the luggage options, bells and whistles they could. They loved the bike, they loved riding it, and they loved doing everything they did together.

Michael and Cindy leave no children behind. I ask you to take a moment and bow your head in helping me remember two of the kindest and most enthusiastic VFR riders you could know.

    Canner

An update from one of their close friends:

    Hello Everyone,

There will be a celebration of the lives of Cynthia Ruschienski and Michael Shockett this Sunday, October 12th, from 2pm to 5pm in the fourth floor conference room of the UJA Federation, Lipa Green Building, 4600 Bathurst Street, Toronto

There will be a social gathering beginning at 2pm, followed at 2:30 or 3, by personal stories of Cyndi and Michael as told by friends and family members.

I hope you will all be able to attend. Please forward this message to anyone else that you feel would want to be informed.

    Thank you,

    Al

There is very little that can be said to ease the pain in situations like this. I've lost too many friends through pointless circumstances and I understand what it's like. Little though it is, I add my condolences as well.

I think they would both approve of the fact that all of us still riding can learn something from this though: No matter how many miles, no matter your level of experience, there is always something that can happen. Be vigilant, be careful, and keep your eyes open.

Oh my lord, this is horrible. I am so sorry to hear this. Makes me feel sick to think about how they went out enjoying themselves and with so much life left in them. Thoughts and prayers for them and their families.

BTW, where they members on here? I swear I remember a Mike and Cindy joining awhile back.

I hate to hear this news. It is always so humbling. I just pray that both went quickly as thought by the local police. It is tough to lose anybody much less friends, especially when they were doing something what we all enjoy. My prayers for them and their friends and family.
