I continue to hear rumors about there being a new 2009 VFR, and it will be a V-5 design. A Ducati rider I met at an audio store last week in Berkeley has a roommate who rides VFRs and also was aware of it. I also showed the two pix that I posted a couple weeks ago sourced from MCN to a good buddy who I have ridden with for 20 years; he's in complete agreement with me that the photos look exactly like Honda production photos. Too many design and functional details that are correct that just say "Honda". As soon as he saw the photos, he said, "Nope, that's real, not a Photoshop chop job...."

That is photo shopped, but I hope they are close. I would like the 200hp 440lb version with the 6 gallon tank and free hardbags. If they can throw in lifetime service at any dealer around the country and include free tires, I will put down a deposit ASAP.

The question is will American Honda be smart enough to bring both versions of the bike into the U.S.; their marketing skills of late have been lamentable.

    Pulleaze!!!!

First of all the 2 renderings are way to identical not be a photchop of a CBR and VFR... Now I am by no means a certified Honda mechanic but I know my basic parts and their respective locations.. My caption that Added with PaintChop Pro, That is clearly the Muffler inlet pipe.. that is way to far back for down pipes to the catelyst intake... Even if it was a V-5 based on schematics I have seen of the old Ricky Hayden Repsol bike the pipes are roughly in the same place to a collector and single outlet pipe... Errrrr I think.....

The frame is a "two-piece" frame, you can find patents that Honda has filed with this design; the design comprising a front part providing support for the steering head and front suspension; the rear providing support for the swing-arm using the engine as a stressed member for attaching the rear frame bit.

I know a guy who owns a motorcycle that goes to a shop to service the bike that's owned by a guy who had a college friend that grew up with an executive at American Honda that knows a guy in R&D who said that he designed a V5 for the VFR that got scrapped in favor a new paint scheme and a switch back to amber turn signals.

I'm sorry, I forgot what my point was.

    Less than two weeks people!!!!!!!

Total fakes. Hmmm, Hondas 60th anniversary flagship is going to use the same seat and plastic etc as a 2002 bike? C'mon.

Something you wont overhear in the Honda Engineering department: "lets just use a section of the old exhaust out here in the middle of no where. It'll save $8 per bike by using the same heat shield as we did in 2001 when we first started manufacturing this bike...."

Someone from Apple's marketing dep't works at Honda...
