A little history about which party is the big spender or loose with your money. When Carter was president, the USA had the least debts of any nations. When Reagan left office, we were trillions in debt. The first Bush didn't do better. When Clinton left office, we had a budget surplus. GWB is about to leave office and our national debt is just about doubled. Now remember the Republican are supposed to be the party of small government, but under each Republican administrations the government grew and not shrink. Fiscal responsibility? yeah right! Look who's spending your current tax money and borrowing your future tax money to fight an unjust war. I rather the money go to US citizens than some foreign land.

Unjust war?? Exactly how many innocent U.S. civilians have to die, how many buildings have to be blown up for a war to be "justified"? I do, however, think that this war should have ended a long time ago. Seems like nobody has the guts to stop pandering, and put an end to it, by whatever means necessary!! Like I said before, The republicans haven't done a great job of shrinking the size of the govt, but at least they are looking in the right direction.
I'd rather the money stay in the hands of those who earned it.

Again, you are missed informed. Last I heard, Iraq wasn't the one that originally killed US civilians. If you must go to war go after the group that brought down the world trade center. We invaded a country that was not at war with us and now our brave warriors are in harms way everyday.

I believe Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda are what GWB should be searching for, but after billions and billions of dollars are we any closer to capturing him or ending Al-Qaeda.

I think this unjust war has created more people and countries that hates us more than ever before.

I will agree with you 100% that one who earns the money should be the one who should get to keep it and spend it. But if it's between Iraq or US citizens, I pick US citizens.

I'd have to agree with this statement. It seems like the latest U.S death toll for the 2nd Iraq war is now reaching the number of lives ended on Sept. 11. And yet we are really not much closer to avenging those deaths today than we were 5 years ago, we've just lost more American lives. Our military is far stronger than we are allowed to think and if a certain administration had wanted to end this fiasco they could have dropped the hammer a long time ago. Our generations Pearl Harbor did not awaken a sleeping giant, it roused a slumbering obese bear. The flags that were flown across the country following that great tragedy enlightened my spirit and gave me hope. But slowly they disappeared and with them so did my hope. As our government milked the "terrorist" theme our civil liberties were removed on an almost daily basis. And in the end we, our citizens of this country, are more imprisoned than the people that perpetrated the attack on Sept 11th. Where is the justice in that?

And the dems are always able to get budget balanced because they increase the taxes through the roof. Then when the public is tired of that they elect a republicrat who then expands the government with the money left over from the dems surplus. Then the people elect a democlan who increases the taxes to cover the debt and the cycle starts over again. Someone needs to get ahold of this biggie sized government and just make it small again. No more departments of departments of divisions of offices of the who knows what!! Too many people in government make it ineffective.

Were you ever in Iraq? I was. Back in 1990-1991. Back when it SHOULD have been taken care of. Saddam was a bully who killed his very own people, invaded his neighbors and was in bed with Osama. Have you ever heard of the USS Cole? Wasn't that one of our ships which WAS ATTACKED??? Hussain wasn't going to do the dirty-work himself, insted, have his good buddy Osama take care of it. Clinton swept that one under the rug. I guess he was too busy in the :bootyshake2:Oval Office :bootyshake2: to worry about that.

There's no point in debating or discussion with someone who fails to see/understand facts and logic. GWB went to war not over the USS Cole or anything Saddam did against his people, but false (possibly fabricated) information over WMD. If you can't get pass this point, I'm not going to argue with a two year old anymore and good luck to you.

Your statement about Hussain involvement in the USS Cole attack is way over the top with no proof or evidence. When all you can do is resort to making accusations, it's no longer a intelligence conversation.

Ah, there are tons of great writers...many of them with alphabet-soup names that are tough to remember and tougher to pronounce. I like Jack Kornfield the best lately.

I've been watching the news quite a bit lately. Oviously, 95% of the stuff is about the election. There are 3 things that are really pissing me off.

    1) The absolutely sickening treatment Obama is getting. "Hi Barrack. What's your favorite ice cream? How's the weather on the election trail?" Meanwhile, McCain is grilled like a gaffed tuna.

    2) The disrespectful treatment of Sarah Palin. Seriously, this shit is WAAAY over the top.

    3) The asshat's who say McCain is "cracking under the pressure". Yeah... Right... THE MAN WAS TORTURED IN A VIETNAMESE PRISON CAMP!!! If he walked down the street with a fire fight going on, it would most likely be no more stressful to him than what most people endure cutting their toe nails.

Palin as VP? Kinda like picking the Aircoupe pilot as your best qualified pilot. She is a newbie running for national office fer crying out loud. She doesn't deserve respect. She deserves Baptism by Fire! All the candidates do.

100% agree, any candidate for the highest office in the land does indeed derserve a trial by fire. Problem is, one candidate is very obviously being favored by the media. This is a very bad thing.

I don't mind the media asking questions. I mind them being completely disgraceful. Saying that Palin's teen daughter is the mother of her Down Syndrom son is disgusting at best & flat out false. This is not what the media is supposed to be doing.

Remember, Barrack Obama is a newbie as well. He hasn't completed his first Senate tour. Much of it will be spent campaigning for POTUS. With this in mind, it's safe to say he isn't paying even the slightest attention to the state that elected him. McCain is guilty of this as well I'm sure. Since Obama has less experience than Palin, shouldn't he be getting the same ruthless treatment that the overwhelming majority of the media is heaping on McCain/Palin? Palin has successfully run an entire state. What can Obama say he has accomplished?

I could not agree with you anymore. I've always said the same thing. But the way I look at it is that Obama is not qualified enough to be President. I think his believes are very Socialist and is not good. I wish there was a better Democrat candidate.

When Carter was president there were no debts because the economy was locked up so tight no money was moving around. Mortages were in the teens, CDs were in the teens. People crank about a 6.5% loan these days; how does an 18% mortgage stike you? Anybody who longs for those days economically is an idiot. I horded up all my paper boy money into CDs at double digits back then. The only thing good about then is, you could go to a local store and have a choice to not buy something from China. Oh, and the great communicator also had the other energy crisis on his hands. Go ahead, bitch about gas prices, in the 70s you were filling up on odd or even days at the pump based on your liscence # and lucky to not wait in line or even get gas.
Now, the economy of the last decade headed in the exact opposite direction. It all started with your buddy Bill and the false god Greenspan. Everyone could get a cheap loan. Nobody was bitching about that until your tax dollars are getting raped to foot the bill for all the bank exec's and your neighbors that couldn't do the math.
I don't long for either situation in the future.
Screw the parties. We need someone who's going to do the right thing by cutting useless spending and not drive the economy into the bean field taxing the hell out of us. That doesn't have to come with a republicrat title just messing up the proper focus. To bad that isn't happening in the near future.
