I am considering ordering a fender eliminator kit from Competition Werkes. The angle of the license plate is the only thing I am reluctant about. Does anyone have a photo of this application after the installation?

    Thanx,

    Gunzer

you don't have the year of your machine listed, but i have a 6th gen and the CW fender elim is a nice piece and the angle is good....it also utilizes the stock license plate light. 20 minute install. sorry man, no recent phots since the fender mod and footpeg mount mod.

I have an '07 that I put one on and it looks good. You might need to have someone with small fingers to get the nuts on the back of the bolts that hold the light on. My hands wouldn't fit.

+1. It looks great on my bike. But I couldn't get the light back on. My wifess fingerss weren't small enough to get it and she's tiny. Plate looks great though.

Thanks for all the replys. I ordered the kit from Custom Werkes. I appreciate the heads up on the hard to get to bolts. I read a post from a forum member about this exact challenge. This person used a open end wrench with tape on one end to hold the nut while threading the bolt thru. This made sense to me hopefully it will work.

Cync, thanks for posting those pics. The mod looks great on your ride, so does your Scorpion exhausts...Badass.

When attaching illuminator light there may be some swearing and beer involved...But final install looks great, worth the trouble :)

With a little ingenuity and patients you'll get it

Yes, that was my thread. I posted it in hopes that it would help save some frustation and lots of swearing (I did for 10 minutes before coming up with the solution). Anyhow, it should work out just fine for you. Let us know how it goes.

tip on fender eliminator light put both of the bracket fastening bots through the holes then put the light on before u put the bracket back on the bike, there will be just enough room to get your fingers in to tighten the bolts then to tighten them with a 12mm wrench.

oh and if your canadian u will need to use a metal file to widen the bolt holes in it, either that or drill your plate.

Great tips and I was wondering where you could get one of the kits from Kandian Ken. I guess what I am asking is can you order one online? Thanks!

I have a '04 VFR with it and those little nuts used to install the light housing is very small and difficult to get to, especially when you have to change the bulb! I hands are not big (gloves size is med) and I have a hard time reaching in to locate and then tighten them. If you have a small kid of a female friend with small hands, that will be perfect. It is doable and it turn out nice!!! One caution, here in southern California, I got pulled over because the angle of the plate was too steep, according to the police so I hand-bended the plate frame to flatten it but be careful of the clearance needed for your suspension travel. If you completely straighten out the plate frame and you bottom out you rear suspension travel over a bump or something, your rear tire may come into contact with the plate, just FYI.
