    I have a bit of a problem.
I recently noticed that the pads in the right front caliper were wearing very quickly, in comparison to the left side. So I got some new pads and proceed to replace all four.
When I removed the pads from the left, I found that neither were very worn, and the wear was even, from top to bottom.
When I removed the pads from the right, I found that they were worn on an angle. That is, the inside pad was very worn at the top and very little at the bottom. The Outside was therefore hardly worn at the top and Very worn at the bottom. Obviously the caliper was bent inwards at the bottom by 3mm to 5mm.
The cause...... I have (twice) stupidly gone to take off with the disk lock still on.... Yeah Yeah... Stupid..

I suspect the caliper slide pins have bent causing the misalightment.

    Has anyone had this problem..??

Short of replacing the caliper, does anyone have any suggestions....
    Thanks

    Modzy,

Welcome to the community. We are glad you decided to join us here/

As for your slide pins, I think replacing the slide pins would be the best option. You could try to straighten them if they are ni deed bent, but I would be wary of the further fatigue and that they might break when trying to straighten them. Add to that the pins are not an expensive item (at least not thru bikebandit.com)

    Hi,
I have a caliper from my '98 VFR800 for sale if you want it. Way cheaper than buying a new one. In the mean time check that disk lock...

    Keep the rubber side down.

Thanks Vinny. Going to see if I can replace the slide pins today. (Hope I can find someone who stocks them.) Safer than trying to straighten them.
I'll let you know about that caliper Mellow Dude.

    Thanks..
