I was on the way to work today, and when I pulled in the parking lot, I notices one of my bolts that hold the solo-seat cover on fell out.

Luckily, the local Honda shop can get them, for a whopping $3.95 each. So, I figured I'd order 5 of them, just in case. Some pipe tape is getting used next time!

I tried that, the ones I ended up with from Service Honda were close but would no way work. I used the online parts fisch to get the numbers. I dont have the number right now but I'll check when I get home and post the ones I got stuck with...... Part number I have is 90112-GC1-000 in Honda packaging. These do not work. If you get some that do please post the part number, thanks

Funny, I also lost one of mine last week. Haven't gotten around to replacing it yet, but I tracked down a part # from BikeBandit.com (234064-01), for "only" $13.56 each. I'll check the local shops first!

Yonan, Thanks, I'll have to check that PN. What was the problem? Wrong thread or design?

Phil, You might want to check that part number. I called BikeBandit, they said they had to order it from Honda, but they were $3.13 each vs $3.99 Honda price each. I'm sure I'd loose that in shipping. Plus, the local Honda (Pete's Cycle, Bel Air, MD free plug) give 10% military discount, so knock .39 off that.

It just doesn't look right without it.

OK, it might have helped if I paid attention to the fact that this was for an '86vfr750. I mean, it's not like it isn't clearly stated in your avatar or user name. I hate gettin' old! Carry on.

Yonan, that looks exactly like mine...I wonder what makes yours different? You have the inserts in the seat, right? Did you get something that works?

Old?! I'm 41. I don't think you're old until they put the seal on the box! I'll be 80 doing 350mph on a atomic fussion crotch-rocket!

The big one is what I assume is an original. Mine work well enough to keep the cowl on, but one only has three good threads and won't tighten all the way,. Danimal is sending me an extra one he had. Man I must be bored taking pics of bolts.....

Haha. I must be bored posting about loosing a seat bolt. But its good to find out what parts don't work. Unfortunately, I'm at work and can't see the other pics until I get home tonight.

The big one isn't even close to mine. That's weird, the short ones work perfect on mine, the shoulder buts against the insert in the seat with no problems.

Wow, so we learned something new.

Is your seat cover factory or fiberglass from Crites?

Hey, I just went out and guess what, what you are calling a bolt, is actually the insert for the seat. Look in the end and see if the small screw doesn't go into the hex end of the big one.

    !!!!!!!!!!!Holy cow

Son of a gun. You are the man. It is just as you said. I've been using the insert as the bolt to hold the cowl on. Funny that it works both ways. My seat cowl will probally stay put better now. Thanks

I didn't figure it out either until I took the cover off the bike.
