I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Bob I'm 54 years old and would like to take up riding again after a 30 year absence. I'm very interested in the vfr. Most people try and talk me into a cruiser but I want something I can have a little fun with.:party2: My bike 30 years ago was a 73 750 triumph Bonneville. I know the vfr is a lot of bike to start back with but I think I am mature enough to ease back into it....Bob

    Hi Bob,
I could say that I'm drifting to old fart status and I ride a very tricked out VFR800. If you are conserned that the newer bikes will be a handful, consider a 4th gen (94 - 97). Those bikes power bands are butter smooth.

I'm in Dayton oh - where in oh are you?

    Welcome!

    MD

Hello Bob. I looked up the bike you had and the weight of the bike is a little lighter than a 6 Generation VFR, the VFR power almost doubled of that bike. I too looked at the cruiser's and wanted more of a sporty bike for fun around town and in the twisty's. The sport bikes of today make you lean into the handle bars more than I want and the comfort was not there for me on longer trips. I have been very happy with my 6 Gen so far and have put 5,500 miles on it since I purchased it 70 days ago.
I'm sure you will find a lot of good info here and friends as well. Good luck on your search.

HI Bob and welcome to VFRWorld. You should be fine with the VFR. Just remember to take the time to get used to it. :thumb:
