You could try putting some "hot pockets" down there, and by the time you make your first stop, you have a hot ready to eat meal just waiting for you!

I used to have a cookbook for cooking things on a car engine. (It was done all the time in the 20's and 30's when motoring was new.) I bet you could strap some food on there. Maybe we should link this to that thread here on the "bad new bike smell"...it could cancel out that. I can see it now at the gas station: "hey, what kinda bike is that? Oh, it is pastrami." Or, one could reprise that old mustard commercial: "Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon?"
    Must be lunchtime...see ya, DerStuka!

Heres something interesting that I have experienced from ridding many different bikes over time: Most Suzuki's Run cool for the rider 90% of the time, even in slow traffic. Yamaha(horrible heat on thigh A$$ area, R6, R1) Kawasaki High heat legg area. Honda High heat around all sides, just gotta keep ridding. Ridding pants help deflect heat very well IMO. Unless you are stuck in traffic, then they hold heat(ouch). Im positive Suzuki does something to keep thier bikes running cooler and emmitting less heat on the rider.

mine is a 98 and I had forgotten how how it gets particularly on the right side until I wore my riding jeans the other day on a hot day instead of my leather pants. In the leathers, I don't really notice it.

Probably normal, like Reg don't notice it when wearing my quality leather pants but sometimes do when wearing when my Draggin jeans on a slow hot days commute into work.

Since it's so hot here in Vegas, I don't notice any heat coming off the bike... however, I DO get burns on the insides of my thighs from the damn gas tank!! First few times, I just had red marks that slowly went away. Now, after having the bike about a month and over 1,000 miles... I have permanent marks that look like bruises. In this heat, I can NOT wear leathers... it's just your basic jeans for me, and I'm only on the bike 7 miles each way to work. At stop lights I put my hands between my legs and the tank to help alleviate the pain.

My Corbin seat should be here this week, so I'm hoping it lowers me enough and allows me to sit back a little further so my legs don't HAVE to touch the tank. And don't ask, 'cause the answer is NO! I ain't showing you the marks left by the heat of the tank!!

With the cooler weather coming on, I know it will be nice to have the heat coming off... and then, I will be wearing leathers too.

I have a 2002 VFR and wear kevlar lined jeans. The only heat I feel is on my right boot?! Very weird. My legs are fine, but my right foot on the inside by the engine gets warm. Weird. Love the bike tho!!
