I have the L-Brackets, and Pack-Rack but I do not have any of the nuts or bolts that screw the brackets to the bike. I held the brackets up to the bike and it looks like I am going to need spacers to keep the rack from touching the rear plastic. I am going to call Ventura tomorrow but I looked on their website and the brackets they have advertised for the VFR look like to got under the tail section, not above it. Attached is a picture of the same type I have. Anyone know if I need spacers or am I missing more than just bolts?

That is an awesome bike, oh wait its mine. Anyway the only spacers on mine are located on the back mounts and are about 3/4 of an inch long and the bolts are about 1 inch long if you want exact messurements just let me know.

Can't say exactly on your bike. I just installed the same rig on my 91 today. You should have two long bolts in your package. These on mine at least. replace the "frankenbolts." The spacers are retained. The rear part of the rack should bolt right up to the seat pan bolts by removing the bolts, lining up the L brackets and snugging them down. If need be, again on my bike, there is room for shimming using flat washers.

It might be a good idea at some point to replace the rubber cushions. Mine were getting a little flaky. Notice too that the inside of the L bracket tubing is not powdercoated. My fix for this was two bigass stainless carriage bolts to plug the holes when not using the rest of the rack assembly.

I will be speaking to the rep next week at SportBike NorthWest. The instructions leave a bit to be desired.

sidlives, please let me know the lenght of the bolts on the front and the back. Also, if you could tell me the exact length of the spacers I would bow down to you.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, today has been very crazy. Anyway here are a few pics and the length of the spacers is 5/8". I would guess that the length of the rear bolts is 1" and the fronts just look like they are 3/4" longer than the stock cowl bolts. I would bet you could find all these pieces at a hardware store and not even have to deal with Ventura. If there is anything else I can help you with just let me know.

thanks sidlives, went to Napa yesterday and got all the parts needed. Took a little bit to figure out what would make a good spacer and I settled on 2 nuts that are bigger than the bolt. Worked like a charm. Each bolt ended up like this bolt, washer, L-Bracket, 2 nuts, 2 washers. Fits like a glove. Napa had bolts that were a little bit shorter than the short grip rail bolts. Took me about an hour to figure everything out. Now the only thing I don’t have is the Ventura bag…and my bike cover don’t fit right anymore. What do you think of the bag?

I do like the bag, it could maybe be a little bigger but with my tank bag I have no complaints. It attaches and detaches very easily and of course it stays out of the wind. I was just wondering if you have the big bracket for the bag? I see you have the sport one on in the picture, by the way sweet bike the honda wing graphics look awesome.

I do have the tall rack as well. I just messed with the small one yesterday. Strapped my book bag to it this morning and rode to work. Worked like a charm. Graphics do look nice, I bought it that way.
