bought this 87 a few months ago for 400.00. Bought about 100.00 worth of used parts on e-bay. Spent a few hours getting it running right by removing the carbs a couple times and finally getting them just right. Replaced a few odds and ends that had been broken or worn out through the years. It runs great and has 23,000 miles. The guy that I bought it from got tired of it and let it sit outside for about 2 years. It got stolen and was found less than 100 yards from its parking spot, in the ditch. Finally he got tired of looking at it and took my ridiculous offer.....sight unseen. I brought my truck to work the next day and loaded it up! The plastics were trashed from numerous drops. I have worked on it a few weekends throughout the summer and this is what it looks like tonight. The paint is DuPont Chromabase color and Chromaclear. I wasn't sure what to do with graphics and I wanted it to look different, so I made some cartoon flames and faded them in with silver. I will order a set of silver VFR decals and use some of them. Im gonna paint the wheels either dark silver or black.

I bought one for $400 as well but yours looked a hell of alot better than mine did. Good find. I have to find plastics since it came with only the front section. Thinking of fabbing my own.

Thats the exhaust fan you see in the pic, its a nice 3 speed too! The intake fan is on the other side of the garage and it has a filter duct taped to the back side of it!
Sometimes you just gotta do with what you got! I always put plenty of clear on, so I can sand and buff it to look like it was done in a booth. I have built plastic booths in the past but only for the really nice cars.
