Who's got the lowest price around on Staintune exhaust for the 6th gen VFR?
    I've seen $770 to $809 but I'm still looking.
    Anybody?

StarCycle-price was lower than their website...can't remember total-still on b/o, but I think it was $727 delivered. I called with Staintune's part number K3 or something. I couldn't beat it, though I didn't spend a ton of time online either.

Yea I spoke to Glen today and the prices have gone up dramatically. He mentioned that Remus makes a nice set of pipes for less $$$$$. Anyone know much about the Remus?

There is a photo of the remus system on Sporttour.com.
Makes the tail section look to messy.
The problem is the shape and size of the stock pipes.
Take them out and you've got quite a hole to fill.

Have you ever checked out BOS pipes?
    http://www.bos-exhausts.com

They are the same size and bend of the stockers.

You know if TwoBros made that Valve system with both pipes working I'd buy it! Those pipes look sweet! I just can't buy a system with a fake pipe. What were they thinking?

I did see the Remus in Sporttours photo gallery. Wasn't overly impressed. According to Glen they do fill the back end better than the Staintune, and you get the option of carbon fiber and titanium.Didn't like the fact that the baffle wasn't removable for those days when you just want to piss off the nieghbors. As far as Two Bros. I've seen a few vfr's with the new systems (not that joke system called the STASH, now that was an ugly system) anyways the newer system looks good in carbon fiber with the gold center peice but they looked really small on the bike. Not to mention the dummy pipe like you mentioned.Anyways I'm gonna check out the Bos system. I'll let you know what I think.

I looked at the BOS...would like to hear them, but I think even the stockers look better. I like Staintunes phrase: Austrailia's Pipes of Perfection. Even over the computer's subwoofer they sound great. Can't wait to hear them on my bike.

Those BOS are nice but it doesn't seem to come in carbon or stainless steel, just aluminum for the 02 vfr. Also what do they run $$$? Do you need to repack them? I do like the way they fill in the back end. The GP1 on there product site looks real nice:) but it doesn't look like it works on the 02 vfr's....Damn it! Maybe I'm back to Staintunes.

Got 'em Monday. Since I already did the fenderectomy (Competition Werkes) and removed buddy pegs, they took literally 15minutes to install. Wow, just like they quoted in that comparison article...awesome sound, outstanding quality. I did have to straighten the end that goes on the cat--sits on outer edge of shipping box, but was very simple. I had plugged my buddy peg holes with stainless steel button allens and was able to use it--that is the Rt Rr one is used to support the cat to can pipes. They ship you a new longer Rt Rr buddy peg allen bolt. Sounds better than stock with baffles...but I prefer them removed--takes about 30 seconds to remove them. Perfect sound. Idle sounds like a V8. Now that's a sound system!!! No disappointments, mate. Aussie's Pipes of Perfection: Indeed.

I like modified bikes, but I think Honda did a nice job with the Viffer. The stock look is part of what sold me on the bike. V4/4 oulets looks great to me.
Staintunes: That company takes polishing and quality control seriously...they are flawlessly finished. I agree with the comments in the article...the shorter smaller, systems don't "balance" with the bulk of the VFR tail. Staintunes' design "fits" well with the whole bike and the sound is sooo sweet. Counterpoint: If looks were the only issue---2 Brother's newest VALE system, though smaller looks great--they have 2 pictures on their website that are very nice. My bike is red and polished stainless looks best IMHO. Titanium and Fiber-look finishes can look awesome too, depending on the color of the bike, etc.

Fern, you probably better wait and see how much the baby is... ;) they come with hidden charges. But the good news is, the charges keep going up. Wait is that good news? But, you only have 18-25 yrs of it to look forward to then you get to put out for a 30k wedding. :) By then staintunes will be available used for your classic VFR. haha

Like they say "it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission...I'm still leaning towards getting the staintunes soon. My wife:whip: :preggers: ,son and daughter will have to be the forgiving type!

    Ferndog,

I suggest maintaining marrital bliss by selling something else. I sold Merc hubcaps for $260 and 2 Ford rear ends from my street rod inventory to soften the Staintune's blow. Still charged $239 on plastic, but as you said about forgiveness...she'll never quite "understand".
