I need to vent a little...

    1. Is it just me or are 95% of the current sport bikes & standards out there just plain ugly? Look at a Ducati Monster (V engine) or CB599 (in line 4 if you must). That's what a standard (the term "naked" is just plain stupid) should look like. Look at the 98-01 VFR or a CBR1000/600. That's what a fully faired bike should look like. Pretty much EVERY sport bike Kawazuki & Suzaki make are fugly beyond description. The ZX-14... Are they freaking joking?

    2. What's with the new breed of mufflers? Hang them off the side where they belong. If you simply must be different, put them under the seat. The mufflers that Buell uses are off the scale ugly as are the new GSXR & R6 mufflers.

    3. When are the manufacturers going to get their act together and offer some sport bike accessories at real prices? You ever see a single factory accessory for a 98-01 VFR? Neither did I.

    4. When are dealers going to charge fair rates for parts & service? They want $340 for a set of Michelin Pilot Powers and that DOES NOT include mounting or balancing & I have to take the wheels off the bike. & then they wonder why I buy tires from the internet; the same set of Michelins are $220 shipped.

    5. When are states going to pull their heads out of their asses and start scrapping laws that have nothing to do with safety? NJ examples: a. No tint at all on front windows. Anyone with out of state plates can drive in NJ with 100% tint and not get stopped. b. Reflective tape on a helmet. I ride a nuclear yellow sport bike with my hi beams on during the day, a brite red jacket and a red/black/yellow/white helmet that cost $600. That's not good enough for NJ and they WILL fail your bike during inspection if you don't have the reflective tape.

    6. When are ALL motorcyclists going to realize that when an individual acts like an ass on two wheels, it WILL affect the rest of us. No more 90mph standing on the seat wheelies & no more loud as a 747 at take off rated power exhausts on public streets please.

    7. When are the Harley guys going to realize that just because they spent a ridiculous amount on an inferior bike that DOES NOT, repeat, DOES NOT make you a good rider. That makes you stupid.

    8. When are we going to get a new VFR? & It damn well better have a V4 & a single side on that rear swing arm or it ain't a VFR. If they have to monkey with it, I can live with it as long as it's a "V" engine & single sided swing arm.

I got into a conversation with a Harley idiot at a local eating establishment. He basically said that ALL sport bike should be banned from the street and that all Harley riders have more respect for motorcycling in general. He also said I don't support my country because I ride "Jap Scrap". When I showed him my military ID & asked him if I still don't support my country he said I was a traitor for not buying American. I can honestly say I was 2 seconds from crushing this morons throut with my bare hands. I simply despise people like this.

    For the record, I own a 2000 Pearl Yellow VFR & a 1989 Italian Red Hawk NT650GT.

    Thanks, I feel better now...

KC-10, I agree with you. Many of the new sportbikes are wierd looking especially with their retarded looking stubby exhausts. I am a newbie VFR rider(and love it) but earned my place on a rebuilt 78 suzuki. I didn't go buy a $15000 Harley for my first beginner bike even though the wife and father in law pressured me to do that. YOU CAN'T PURCHASE PATRIOTISM, which is what many of these "bikers" do. They also claim they are trying to be individuals when they are simply subscribing to the same bullshit lifestyle as all the other poser, weekend riders. Such hippocrits. Harleys are a symbol of wealthy elitism now. Next time one of those types of Hardley Doesrun riders gives you the jap crap, rice rocket thing ask them to identify where all of the parts on their Harleys are from!!! Many of the small parts and electrical components on those bikes are made overseas....so fuck them! And half of them own Honda cars or Toyota trucks(OH I mean the rich guys have BMW's and Lexus')! To close, I have no problem with whatever bike anyone rides...just ride and have fun. I wave at everyone and would go on a ride with anyone.

    Bad day KC?
you hit two of my pet peaves for us two wheeled fools. Especially #6. If you piss off enuff people to write thier congressmen, we could end up with some fool law that will sting us all. Have your fun, do your wheelies and speed but be stealthy about it. I do mine on backroads without an audience...

Harley riders with big egos? Well, what can you say, they 're a legend in thier own minds. I try not to waste too much brain energy on it...

Reflective tape on your helmet?!! - yeah right - that'll work! So the thinking(?) was that your headlight/rear light set up wasn't enought to enable cage drivers to see you at night - of course they have the data to back up this up!
    Wankers.
Must be related to the safetycrats over here who tried to ban bikes from lane splitting (riding between stationary cars stopped at lights to get to the front of the pack). They tried this gem without supporting information to back up their claim that splitting was unsafe and got spanked - hard.
