OK so i bought this vf700f.

got the tank lined cuz it was rusted.

cant blow air in or out with vlave turned to on / or reserve.

with petcock off air goes in-out the middle hole to the fuel outlet.

Now i need to know how to Mabey clean off/take off the strain screen on the inside?

does the vf700f 1085 even have that?

any differ model tanks i can use?

You shouldn't be able to blow air through the tank/petcock. The petcock on the tank (if it's anything like the 500) is vacuum operated. It requires that there be vacuum pressure on the vacuum line before any fuel can flow at all, regardless of the position.

Though, I don't doubt lining the tank with the petcock installed didn't mess something up. I'd just replace the petcock, a tank is a whole lot more money (if you can find it).

If the tank was lined/sealed with the petcock installed, it's screwed now. There's no cleaning that stuff off.

Look for a used one now...

the petcock was off but what of the internals ( got a new puetcock from motorhead1977)

air goes in/out with petcock off in the middle hole, no air travels throu top or bottom hole only the middle one.

when its on there in on or off no air will come in or out of the fuel outlet ( i dont want to spend 20 dollars on gas only to have to pump it out.

I'm pretty sure this is cloged up.

The solvent ain't working, since its clogged up anyways.

How hard will it be to install a spout to attach a fuel tube with petcock to it?

#1 is the petcock everything else is inside, the petcock was off during this entire process When i put air in or out of the fuel outlet , there is no air flow with the petcock installed. When i take off the petcock i can push and pull air only throu the middle hole in the tri ring setup on the fuel tank. The top hole and the bottom hole on the tank there is no airflow throu. in or out.

The actual petcock is inside the tank. All you can replace is the rubber seals and the lever.

Try running some braided steel line up through the fuel outlet. See if this helps.

its the actual main and, reserve line the fuel outlet is clear as a whistle.

I just tried fish tape but its just a tad to stiff, tried wires from a book and its tad to soft.

had something thought was acetone but wasn't pure acetone, the smell is evident inside the tank.

I need to get some pure acetone, believe and over a day soaking might work . any thoughts.

to redkote only acetone is a solvent. what would be a neutralizer to the acetone?
