Need PROS help with air filters!

    hey guys, i have and 06 black. two bros VALE pipes. no other mods. im looking to get another air filter, and im trying to decide between a k&n or the BMC one. I need the pros help on this because im not going to do the power commander so i want one that wont effect my ratios in a bad way, if thats possible. so please send me some advice also your input on the power commander, i really dont want my gas mileage going down any more. i only get about 35 with this ethanol fuel.:unsure:

    i also have 2 brothers but i kept the stock filter but i have the PC and i also still get around 30-40 mpg pending on how bad i want to beat on her that day lol..

    I am no "pro" but I do not think either the BMC or K&N will kill your millage or make you bike run bad. As for which filter to get that is a tough one. I think more people have the K&N and most seem happy with it. I have heard a lot about the BMC lately though and it looks like a good choice also. Someone did a back to back dyno test with a BMC and K&N and on their bike the BMC did better. However that may be exactly what you don't want to happen if you don't want to put a PC3 on. So maybe a K&N would be better for you right now.

    I have a BMC filter on an 04 with the same pipes and no Power Commander. I average 39 MPG riding pretty hard.

    Keeping the bike relatively stock, no PC - K&N. Planning on multi-million dollar mods out the wazoo - BMC.
