Tool Kit Hold down strap.

    Sorry, not sure where to put this one I figured this would be as good as any place.

    Anywho, my 98 does not have the strap that holds the tool kit into the under seat area. I can see that there is a little hook on the right side, but dont see a place on the left side for it to go?

    Do these break often?

    Is there a good solution to holding the stuff in place?

    Does anyone have a picture of what its supposed to look like?

    Ive been thinking about this for a few weeks & cant come up with a nice solution to this. Im sure I could just tie it in or something but that would be pretty crummy lookin'

    It's a rubber band.

    There is a hook on the left side too, but best seen with the tail section removed, or at least from underneath . I don't like to put my head next to the sproket though... greasy!

    The band on my '99 was broken this year. Rubber just gets old.

    If I go to the Honda shop, I'll try to purchase the replacement.
    Until then, I just tied the broken band with string to restore the tool kit hold down function.

    Right on Cal, I looked all over for that other hook, but no luck. I guess I did not look hard enough. My kids are rubbing off on me. LOL
