Thanks all, Have been extremely busy work etc...I'll try to get pix and stuff when I get a chance. I'm currently waiting on a caliper (any day now) so I can finally ride this thing out on US1 instead of the neighborhood. Have been a fan since I was a teenager of the VF.
Bike Pix Here she is: New Seat Re-covered New front fork seals (Thanks Mike and Keith) Touched up the motor..paint, cleaned Repainted all 3 brake calipers Painted forks, frame, grab rails. Rebuilt rear caliper, pistons, and seals. Rebuilt starter switch from nighthawk parts (thanks Mike) New fuses New blinker relay Bought used rear caliper (then had to rebuild), rear master brake cylinder, and break reservoir. Bought used master clutch cylinder. Pulled the carbs (Keith) cleaned jets Pulled old spark plugs (Keith) New plug wire. New fuel sending unit, new o-ring Gas tank had to be re conditioned inside, muriatic acid – then Kreemed. Damn that was rusty!!! New factory VF750 OEM grips. Pulled rear mirrors from 2000 Honda Shadow re-painted (thanks Keith) The tall OEMs just didnt wow me! New Better looking used lower 4-four lower cowl New Clymer manuel New Battery-Keith Im sure I may have left something else out but you get the idea…..
Thanks My brother found this bike on craigslist in Cocoa (Fl). It had been sitting for a long time, but it was all there and all stock. Didnt take alot to get it running, just alot of touch up cosmetics. You can see the little things up close, but I wasnt looking to make it a "new" bike again. Just look good and ride. Hell, it may be retro if your under 30 but this bike was the chit in 83 (I was 15) .
