I have an 07 VFR and the gas cap lock is not working. The dealer is saying they will need to completely re-key everything (seat, ignition, and new gas gap), no charge to me, or I will have have to have 2 keys. The original and one for the new gas cap.
Does anyone know of another solution?

I personally do not know of another solution, but if it is no charge to you, let them re-key everything that way you have only one key that works on all the locks.

I am leaning in that direction. It just seems odd to me that all of the locks need to be replaced, instead of just replacing a single tumbler in the gas cap.
    Thanks much for your thoughts.

They CAN change the tank lock, but you'll have 2 keys. As WK said, let them do it all for you at no charge, and make sure that they give you 2 genuine Honda keys that both work in the ignition. Check this BEFORE you sign off on the job , too.
