My 2004 VFR has a BMC filter, Leo Vince exhaust, and a PCIII with a custom map. The bike is waaay more smooth at VTEC transition now. The air/fuel ratio is perfectly flat from 3500 RPM all the way to redline. The Staintune map that I was running made the mix really lean at about 6400 to 6800 RPM. That resulted in a significant drop in horsepower right before the VTEC transition, which accentuated the power boost just after transition. Not so good. Now the power curve is smooth - although it gets steeper at 6800 RPM, like it should.

The guys at my tuning shop said that mine was the fourth 6th Gen they had done recently, and they all came out at about 100-101 hp, just like mine.

Gas mileage is worse, but I haven't calculated how much worse yet.

Oh, I gained 2 hp by replacing the filter and dumping the Staintune map. But the real benefit is the smoothness of the power delivery. Throttle response is a bit better, I guess, but I still have to maintain a smooth touch - particularly in first gear.

By the way, there is no reason that horsepower has to drop before VTEC transition. My custom map cured that problem.

The PC111 definitely is worth it and just make sthe bike feel that much more refined. The power delivery is much better and the response is much smoother. Any HP gains are a bonus. My 07 had Leo Vince pipes and the PC111 and it was just about as good as it gets.

Yes, I installed the $15 O2 elims and blocked the pair valves. The custom map at a good tuning shop made a huge difference with the power delivery. The power delivery is progressive (no dips or flat spots) from 3500 RPM all the way through to about 10,500 RPM. Torque peaks at about 8,900 RPM (53.65 ft/lbs.)

I advise anyone considering a Dynojet Power Commander to spend the $300 for the custom map. If you are spending the $$$ on an exhaust and a Power Commander, go the rest of the way to 6th Gen Nirvana and buy the BMC filter and the custom map. I know a great tuning shop in the lower Wilamette Valley; PM me for the details.

My vfr seems fine just the way it is.Sorry, I don't have the time y'all do.I run good rubber and put up with the 4.5-5k stutter. Those r's are not important to me.If I had the time and $ I'm sure I would do the same upgrades.Composite pipes would be nice, the remapping costs(pc3etc)make it economicaly unfeasable. What kind of mods are in the works for the gen 7?
