Hello all, I have a 2006 VFR, (bought it new with 48 miles on it about a month and a half ago) and purchased the warranty for peace of mind. I have put about 1600 miles on it and I seem to have multiple problems with it: #1. Several times now, I have been riding and look down to see the oil light on and realize that my bike was off! Pulled the clutch in and started right up. Weird? I don't know. #2. One of my buddies bought a new 2007 viffer, and his typically runs about 20 degrees cooler, ( 220 f. vs. 195 f.) my fan comes on at 220 and never cools down enough to shut off. #3. From a stop, I slowly roll out of first gear and hear what I can only describe as a blinker sound.... click..click..click, until clutch is out all the way. #4. And the worst I experienced today. Coming to a slow stop in 2nd, both brakes applied, clutch in and down shifting to 1st, the bike shutters real bad, maybe front end, I don't know. So I put it in the shop. I know they're probably not going to experience any of this and they're going to think I'm crazy! Am I Crazy? Please help.

Nobody wants to respond because nobody wants to acknowledge the problems on our "2-wheeled gems," especialy the newer ones.

Your crazy, the bike runs fine! They all do that!

Feel better? I didn't even charge you $80 an hour to tell you that!

Seriously, it sounds like you may have an electrical problem. Hows your battery? I know its an 06 but that may be a place to start (assuming your shop doesn't find anything). Also check your Idle, I set mine a little over 1200 RPM. If its set low it can give you a jerky ride at low throttle setting or stall unexpectedly. As for the higher temps do a search - lots of info on things to try. Do you have the shop manual? If not you can download it on site.

Hopefully your shop can find out whats going on and you can get back to riding your bike.

    Yo Jeff,
sorry to hear about the problems you're having with your new Viffer. I have the same year (bought new in March and have ridden 3k miles) as you and have experienced some handling problems lately. I suspected the tires were at fault, but recently have started to think it was the front end. Please let me know what your shop tells you. I'll be taking my bike in this weekend for one of the techs to test ride. Good luck with the shop!

It runs at 220 all the time? Or just when idling in traffic? My fan kicks on at 220 also but really only comes on on hot days at very slow speeds.

Certainly doesn't sound 'normal'. Hope they find something quick & easy to get you back on the road.

The fan comes on at 220 and will usually get down to around 215 and stay there. Last time I rode, granted the heat index was like 110, my viffer got up to 237 and never got below 225. From reading other forums, this seems to be somewhat normal, it just sucks when I'm comparing mine to a buddies and his rarely sees 200. Most of my riding is highway.
