Good morning, New to the site, and just purchased a 2004 VFR80O on Saturday; with 33 miles on it. Put a 120 on it over the weekend and love the bike. Any organized (not formal) rides that take place on Sunday or Saturday mornings in the Seattle area? Location and times?
hi Rumpig. Welcome to the group. You chose a very good machine, and a reliable one as well. I am not from your area, but there are some people in your area on here that do ride on the weekends. VivverVixxen RVFR are a couple of them. He can probably help you out or point you in the general direction of someone who can.
Welcome Rumpig. Guarantee you will enjoy carving the curves with your new VFR. Especially the north half of the Cascades loop. Watch out for a Smokie at Concrete who is intolerant of speeders on sportbikes. Vifferman03
Thanks Yeah, looking forward to North Cascades as well as Hwy 101 - possibly this weekend. Quick question - how long did you really keep RPM's below 5000 when you first bought? This thing is itchin for much higher...
Hey, I think there maybe a ride in the works for the local club to do the Cascade loop! It would be great to have a few other VFRs along. I'll keep you posted as the week goes on... VV
Hi Rumpig. I tried to keep the revs under 7000 for the first 1000km before taking it in for the first service check. Then I gradually increased the revs for the next few hundred. It was tough keeping it down. Now I find I get on the throttle too much. Got an excessive speed two years ago and another one last weekend. It won't be long before you're really having fun! Vifferman
