I'm planning to tote a tent on the back of my 6G. I don't have hardbags, so I'm guessing I'll have to carry it transversely, and that the best bungee attachment points are the grabrails?
Yes, use bungees....and/or use a bungee cargo net, and it might hold it more securely that way. I would probably use both the grab rails, and run a bungee down to the passenger pegs on each side for stability control as well. How wide is your tent?
about 23 inches. it's a half dome 2-person tent from rei. it's the widest thing i have, though i'll also be packing a backpacker size thermarest and a sleeping bag.
