Very happy with my micron slip-on. It's light, sounds awesome (not too loud), and is very high-quality.

I have a D&D on a 98 that I recently purchased. It is loud enough but not too loud.

I also have the Staintune High Mount, but mine is carbon fiber rather than stainless. I got a deal from someone who was selling their '00, so I jumped on it. I had mine installed with a PCII at a registered Dynotune center(Brighton Superbike, Brighton, MI), and the difference is amazing! I gained about 15 more ponies at the rear wheel, from the 98 stock to 113 now, and upped the torque from 54 up to 61 foot-pounds max. The bike just screams now. They did all this on the Dyno, so I know the numbers don't lie. I know most of what has been posted has been about sound and looks, but this should give you some idea what is possible from the performance angle.

By the way, it looks great and sounds awesome! Go with a 'Tune, man!

I have a Two Bros slip on that is an extra if you are interested. I have the one on my '01 and it makes the sound nice but not too loud. It sounds like a small block V-8 to my ears. Take care.

Staintune is the greatest. Fit finish and sound.

Scorpion... I just got back from Deals Gap and some guy that was following me up the Dragon said my bike sounds like a V8 Camaro.

Staintune, I'm sure, is probably the best out there but they are very expensive. I got a never-needs-repacking Scorpion delivered for under $350. Avoid Two Bros, their quality sucks and you can easily find a better pipe for less money.

    KC-10 FE out...

I have a 2000 in yellow and love the sound of my stainless yoshimira but
If your looking for new exhaust which I highly recomend, remember that you have a single swingarm and you should show it off. I think you should consider either a high mount or look into a wolf under tail conversion.
Do some research slip-ons are easy to install and there seems to be more selection. just remember high mount I think youll be happier. I regret not doing it myself

I'm about to switch from the factory muffler to a (low mount) carbon fiber micron. What kind of tool, or extra stuff do I need?

I have a high mount carbon Micron. Sounds great and looks nice, too. Definitely has the V8 sound.

If you have a ratchet & a few sockets & are slightly above a chimp in mechanical ability, you'll have no problem.
