so I come out of the bank and my '99 is on its side. Woman is standing there saying "I'm so sorry...etc" She tipped it with her Buick. So I stand it up and the usual parking lot tip-over damage...scuffed side panel, scuffed mirror, front directional is tweaked, bar end is gouged.

    Grrrrrrr.

That sucks dude! Tell her that you ruined the "custom" paint job and that you have no choice but to get another 1K paint job. Oh and don't forget to mention that you left your chromed out wheels at home plus that uber cool windshield you've had your eye on.

That happened to my friend who just picked up a RC51. Some dummy blue hair knocked it over, and broke a bunch of shit.

Good news? He got a big insurance check, and the bike is paid off, and he's rockin' a new Corbin and an Icon mesh jacket!:ncb:

Yikes, sorry to hear that. That must be just a dreadful feeling to walk outside and see your bike on its side. I would have had her insurance company pay for the repairs....just me though.

I believe it would be worth the hassel to let her insurance fix it. That does way suck.

I love my bike. I really do. Ride every day from when she comes out in April to when I put her away mid-November (this is New Hampshire, remember), but a couple scuffs and scratches aren't something that I'm gonna get that worked up about. My VFR will still get me down the road every day, still go, still turn, still stop...she just won't be as purty. I'll buff out the plastic and clean up the bar end gouges on the lathe...

(anybody got some red touch up paint??)

I'm reminded of the wadded-up bikes I threw away at the track...You get up, unscramble your brain and run over to pick them up and find them..."finished"...never to turn a wheel again. You just had to walk away and start thinking about what you would be riding next weekend.

My VFR will be fine, I'll treat her to a wash and wax treatment over the weekend.

    Thanks for your concern guys.

    Andrew

You have to give the lady credit for hanging around to tell you. A lot of people would have just left.

Good for you for taking the high road. I hope I can be as nice as you if it ever happens to me.

    Lamps to you bro.
I would have at least gotten her to pay for the repairs.
    She admitted to damaging it
    If there were extenuating circumstances.
you don't say anything about them.
    Vfry benevolent of you .
