    Hello everyone!

Just got me an 06 Interceptor last Saturday. It's pearl white and had only 1200 miles on it. Traded in my 06 Katana 600. Had the Kat for two years but I wanted something with up to date technology (fuel injection) more power and a hell of a lot more comfort. I've always liked Honda bikes and especially the looks of the Interceptor. I've always loved sport bikes but the GSXR's, Ninja's, and CBR's are just to harsh to ride and not practical for my riding style anymore. I do a lot of commuting to and from work plus some pleasure riding. Last year I took the Katana over to Deals Gap and rode the tail of the dragon for a week, perhaps some of you know about the dragon, 318 curves in 11 miles. Supposed to be one of the most technically challenging motorcycle rides in the country. It was the most fun vacations I've had, bar none! I belong to another forum called Katriders.com and that's how I found out about it. They all meet over there once a year. Heck, maybe some of us VFR riders could get together next summer over there? I've got an old buddy living in Colorado who's an avid rider and we're planning on going next summer.

I'm a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, 21 yrs service. My wife of 30 yrs. is also retired Air Force. We live in a small town in Arkansas called Hazen, with approx. 1600 people. We're about 35 miles east of Little Rock. I now work as a welder in a custom fabrication shop in Stuttgart Arkansas considered the rice and duck capitol of the world. I've been riding off and on most of my adult life and the Interceptor is my fourth bike.

So far I really like the bike but have found some quirks in it that I've already read about in this forum. Flat spots at 7/8000 rpms, and some hesitation as you roll on the throttle are the most noticeable. Please tell me I didn't buy a bike full of gremlins!! I did all of the work on the Katana and kept it running like a banshee. However, I know nothing of fuel injections and MAPing (what ever that is) but that's why I joined this forum, to LEARN. Just like the forum for the Katana, anything and everything you ever wanted to know about a Katana could be found there. From what I've seen so far this VFR forum will be the same and can hardly wait to meet some of you and learn all I can about the VFR's.

Besides motorcycles I love to fish and hunt. Bow hunting for deer is my passion and has been for over 30 years. Oh, and by the way, I'm only 60 yrs old this coming October but still love a motorcycle with a lot of spunk.

Well that's it for now. Looking forward to this forum and the company it will keep. You'll be hearing from me a lot as I get more familiar with the bike and this forum. Greg

Got my 06 last August, with 0 miles. Prior to that, I had never even ridden or started a motorcycle. I did the beginning rider course, passed, and bought it within that first week. I have been riding all winter, including 2 snow days, and many 20 degree days too. I had to have a set of hand grip warmers, which only work on the palm, but the outside of the fingers still hurt. All this is very new to me, as I had never even started, or even ridden a bike prior to that. I just passed 14000 miles yesterday, I calculate I get 43 mpg. I just purchased a white Honda trunk and mount, which should be here in a week or two. The pearl glacier white is nice and flashy, it seems like most people see me, and take notice. I am getting a new Scorpion white helmet on Monday. That should help me stick out even more.
I just got a bmc air filter, since it was supposed to be replaced at 12k.

    Anyway, what a great ride.

Hello and welcome! Sounds like your bike might benefit from an aftermarket Power Commander III and new mapping.

We have quite a few members from Arkansas, and surrounding states on here. Put a post up under the "North America" forum, and under US - South, and see who bites for a ride. There is already a AR ride thread I believe. Look for it in there.

    Welcome, katat58
You definitely pick the right color:smile:, try the O2 sensor elims 1st to smooth out your throttle. That's all it took to help mine. If you can't find any info here for the mod, check vfrdiscussion.com for it.
