Since Ive had some time recently, i decided to bleed the brakes both front and rear. Bleeding the front brakes made them much better. However I suspect the pads may be at the end since the fluid was low. Anyway back to the important part. I took off my rear brakes to replace a tire (BIG MO'FOING 16 PENNY NAIL in there BTW), and after reinstalling I noticed I put the rear brake on wrong after my first test ride. I thought I heard a pop come from the brakes after I braked hard. (IF BRAKED IS A WORD?).... So next I bled the brakes after reinstalling them the right way. So my next test ride turned out to be a cherry red rotor and the pads were smoking (literally). I think maybe a piston got stuck or maybe something got gummed up when i bled them? Any way my rear brakes seems to be smoking unless its just grease and oil i got on it. But that really doesn't explain the red hot rotor after a couple quick spirited trips around the block.

I've seen that happen on my buddies Supra (which used to me mine). It is quite likely that you have a stuck piston. If it were grease, a few hard pumps on the brakes would take it right off. There is definitely something wrong with your caliper. If it is staying engaged the whole time, the bike should also feel sluggish when taking off/riding. You should take the caliper off and make sure that you have installed the pads correctly, along with everything else.

Once you get things sorted out, you should probably take out the pads and try to scuff them up a bit with some sandpaper. They might be glazed.

read your service manual before doing any work: it isn't necessary to remove rear brake for wheel removal.....

are the sliders free from sticking. you may have to clean the slide pins and grease them. your caliper can stick to one side and drag the pad.

yes it does roll in neutral just fine and it doesn't feel sluggish. The brake works good.... almost too good. Im gonna check the sliders and see whats up. After that im gonna ride it some more and then see what happens. It may be sticking to one side as previously stated
