new owner Q's: 1986 vfr 750

hey all i just bought a 1986 vfr 750 in great condition ! im in love with this bike, its been my dream bike ever since i got into riding. It even has a yoshimura pipe on it ... sounds so awsome. i have noticed alot of the same questions else where but i was wondering if any one could help me out. im already talking to Daughtry sports about fixing the rear shock... and im also looking into getting some flush turn signals, a new windshield, and maybe just upgraded parts, but hardley any one sells these kinds of things... any help?

You will find that there is just about nothing in aftermarket accessories for this bike any longer. You should be OK on generic things like turn signals. I've got the same bike and it is completely stock. Don't forget that eBay will be your best source. Congratulations on the purchase and I hope you enjoy this great bike.

 

Just search for flush mount signals on ebay and they will come up. You need dual filiment up front for running lights and turn signals and single filiment for the rear. I bought this pair, they plug right in. They also come in white and carbon fiber.

steel brake lines and progressive fork springs are 2 useful additions....

always run quality tires and inflate to ABOUT 32psi and check frequently.

note : stock original chains are usually worn out and need replacement (with sprockets) by about 20,000 miles.

aftermarket turnsignals are usually cheap crap made in Taiwan, prone to problems caused by poor quality; i prerfer stock signals with shorter stalks, thereby tucking them in tighter.

short stalks are available from your Honda dealer or Dennis Kirk.
