    Hey all,

I'm a noob to VFR World. Bought a 98 a little while back, had to look around a while to find one, then had to go up to Indianapolis to get it and trailer it back. What fun this bike is, handles great, really good power, stops well. I've had the usual run of sport and other bikes for a guy my age, from RD400 to Electra Glide, and consider myself a medium-aggressive rider with a tendency toward pushing it now and then and maybe getting a few tickets. This bike really does all things well without being scary or ill mannered. A few weeks after I bought it, I rolled into work behind a buddy, the bug bit him , and he now has a 05 VFR. He post as Cynic in Sixth gen. They look cool sitting next to each other in the parking lot at work, and draw the usual comments from co-workers about our sanity, death wish, etc. Some people have the speed gene, some don't. Recently I've begun to have some charging system issues, which I have learned here are somewhat common, so I'm about to make the upgrades I've seen here...VRFness, R/R, etc. This bike had 11.5K on it when I got it, and had been well taken care of, and has Power Commander, Staintune, Corbin, Givi, etc. The charging system thing is annoying, but hey, all mechanical objects have their quirks. I'm also going to need tires soon and am leaning toward Power Pilots, so any tire comments would be great. I usually lurk on forums, but this one has peaked my interest enough to come out of hiding. I'm not super savvy on negotiating these things, another challenge to overcome. I love the fact that this is an international forum. I'm a huge fan of FIM superbike, Moto GP (all classes) and all AMA roadrace classes. Turns out that one of my co-workers is related to the Hayden clan of Owensboro, KY. So I got that goin for me, which is nice. Great info on this site. Lookingforward to communicating with all of you!

Welcome, sounds like you got a sweet ride with all the goodies. Have your co-worker ask Roger lee when he will be returning to action and also tell Nicky to come back to AMA he is getting screwed by his Repsol team.:ncb:

Welcome...I just recently put on some Conti-Road Attacks. Love the way they feel in the corners, had no issues running them all the way to the edge. Now time will tell how long they'll last. :D

    Hey bear
The guys at work love the pilots (all kinds of sport bikes). I just put on a set of Sportmax roadsmarts and I love them! Very good in the rain!
I do alot of commuting and I wanted more life out of my tires. They seem to
have great grip in the turns and so far (1200 mi) are wearing well.

Hey Bear :peace:. Finally decided to sign up instead of lurking in the shadows I see.

Yeah, Bear got me hooked on the whole biking scene again and I'm loving it. We are driving people crazy at work talking about VFR this and VFR that. We've even converted an ex-Harley guy into really wanting a sportbike....(albeit an R6) :suspicious:....but hey, its a start, right?

I'm fairly new around here too, so, we'll be looking forward to learning from all of you guys in the future.

Bear and I will be representin' VFRworld in and around Louisville for the foreseeable future.:vtr2:

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the welcome!! Sorry for the lag time on the reply, but I had to go to work. I think I will try the Pilot Powers, and thanks to VFR World again, I can get a good price at Ride Direct. The only bad thing is they're a KY company so I have to pay sales tax, maybe I can send them to Cynyc's house in IND, if he doesn't keep them for himself. I cannot believe how much the shops mark these things up! Also , yes, Nicky is getting the shaft at Repsol, it's pretty obvious that Pedrosa is their guy. Rumor has it that Ducati is courting Nicky. I am pumped that there will be a Moto GP race in Indianapolis this year, I just hope I can get off work to go. I lived in CA for about twenty three years before moving here, and used to go to Laguna every year. What a blast every time.:strong:
