After installing a 6000k HID kit in my Gen 6, I have been drawing designs and playing with the idea of fabricating a set of VFR headlights with projector lamps in them. HIDs work great now but would work even better and eliminate "bleed off" or mis-mirrored light from the existing housings.

I would likely get my hands on a spare set of VFR lights and then some 02 or newer R1 head lights, gut them, and mold them into the VFRs. I believe that the Yamaha lights are also H4 bulbs so harnesses shouldn't have to be changed.

Right now this is an idea and not an underway project due to other thing being higher on my financial list.

    Anyone else have this idea?

I've seen some mods on a TL forum where a guys did it. Looked good.

I have HID's on my gen 6 and cant imagine needing more lighting.

I bet it looked good on the TL's. I alway had a soft spot for those bikes.

Not really shooting for more lighting; just better focus. Of course, by doing so will give more lighting, I just think it will look better and give better distance at night. Plus it seems like a cool project and hopefully the first of its kind. :)
