If they do not have a picture of your face and can not prove that you are the driver then how can they hold you accountable? There are many attorneys that work on nothing but traffic violations and would have a field day over something like this. Is there a law in your state that states the owner of a vehicle is responsible even when he is not driving? It needs to be a written law before you can be punished for it ....
I hear ya on that one. I moved back to Denver from San Diego last year. No cameras here yet, thankfully. (Nor do we have cops camo hunting gear hiding with laser guns in the woods off our interstate like I've seen on TV in the south. :bs People on our interstates vary their speeding habits but I'd say that on average do about ten over in the 70 zones and around 12 to maybe 15 in the 55 zones. Not like SD though, whether it be I-5, 15 or 8, rush hour or not, you are going to get run over if you are not going 95 in a 65 like the rest of traffic. Traffic cams I totally agree with. Honestly, there are not many lights that I will run on the bike because of how many other people around here that do. Ending myself in the side of some soccer mom's suburban does not appeal to me. With traffic cams, I think people become a lot more aware of the violation and are far more likely to stop running lights, at least at those target intersections. Speeding though is almost a disease; definitely close to an addiction. I think it will take several thousand tickets before cops notice a difference in safety on those roads. But I guess props to them. They now have less to do and more revenue coming to the city to ensure they still have jobs.
A buddy of mine had connected a bicycle cable from his plate which was on a hinge to the grips so he could flip it up and down while riding. You had to look hard to find it. NOT leagle if caught. He has never been caught yet. He lives in the city where there are cameras everywhere.
