Wow, I didn't realize that VFR World was so divided over the V-TEC. And here I thought it was just some Engineers plan on a more efficient utilization of valves per cylinder. But now I find out that life in VFR World as we know it could end because of those diabolical engineers and executives at Honda turning a once great stallion of a motorcycle into a cut rate moped not fit for the ass of a gay taliban soldier!!!!!:ncb:

I remember those days of glory, back in the 80's when you just said the word Interceptor and women and children screamed in terror!!!!!! When all you heard in the air was whining cams and Flock of Seagulls. When men were men and women were glad of it....Away with you foul V-TEC!!!!!! Thou poisoned the purity of men's souls with your mediocre sound and your slightly above average performance!!!!! AWAY!!!!!

You're right I do feel better. I've been wanting to get this whole thing off my chest for a while now. And I'm sorry for all those I've offended by actually purchasing a machine that could actually trigger the start of Armageddon. :grouphug: I feel much better now!

Ah, something more than invective, did I read a cause?

Stupid me, still playing in my corner with my $500 2nd Gen that has suddenly exploded to $800 because I gave up and bought new fairings, when suddenly somebody explains that they don't like 6th Gens because they have computer controlled solenoid operated valves? Am I hearing that correctly? And they call that "VTEC"? Well, that is different. Someone said it sounds different too. I suppose it would if the valves are stuttering closed, and then stuttering open. What a curiosity.

The other day I saw a bumper sticker that said something like:

    "CHANGE IS INEVITABLE

It's how and when you adapt to it that matters ?"

I'm gettting a suspicion that this is not an argument between 5th and 6th generation drivers as much as it's an argument between traditionalist and innovators. Some people think a motorcycle is supposed to sound one way, and others aren't sure it sounds any particular way at all. Wouldn't that be droll if the 5th Gens were just a group of old fogies after all?

It's not enough to to get rid of the weight and drag of a car body, they have to throttle the chicken even more by making it have variable volumetric flow?

"I hate's da ide a'a dat so much, dat I jes' got's to get me one of dem Vtec's fore I pops off permanent like. My oh my ! What will dey tink to do nex?"

actually I think if we are pointing virtual fingers...RW tagged his messages with 5G brotherhood then a few more did and that's where it started esp when 5g guys stated that their bikes were better. Now I'm not trying to stir this up again cause I really don't give a rats ass. I just remember us doing that a ways before there was any 'militia' It's just that they had overwhelming numbers join up being the largest group of VFR owners and being very enthusiastic, they surpassed the 5g brotherhood quickly. Now if we were just a VFR and Kawaskai site then we could battle the kawi guys...

6th Generation is an awesome bike, and all other generations are great too. I see the VFR's getting better with time, kinda like wine.

you're lucky we don't form up the ranks and ride over to your house and burn your bike at the stake. Of course, The Militia has become so big time that we don't have the time to deal with these petty issues, we now have people that take care of these types of annoyances for us....what was your address again?

I never have opened/read the Militia thread. Dont care, dont want to. The signature stuff are just tonque in cheek fun.-- Chill, relax, drink mass quanitys of beer, belch and celebrate Honda VFR's. After the hangover - get out and go riding.

The thread to nowhere continues to spin.
