Love my Harley Softail, but if H-D would make a V-Rod as comfortable as a VFR, I'd buy two!:eyebrows:

    whatever floats your boat !

A buddy of mine ownes one. I drove it once. Nice enough bike, but it handles nothing like a sport or standard bike. Great in the quarter mile and like so many cruisers (American and Japanese) it is great for driving bar to bar. If you dicide to go for it I would suggest that you keep your VFR just in case you want to ride on a winding road.

Plenty of room for them to be garage buddies. That's the only Hardley I'd consider owning.

You will miss the sportbike if you go total cruzor. Of course if your riding season is short then pick one and enjoy the he'll out of it. Here we ride year around and need a variety.

Supprised someone hasn't mentioned the new VMax, now that's a V4 Power Cruiser.

I just finished reading the latest RIDER magazine. HOLY CRAP! 200HP bone stock. It's ugly as sin, but with power like that, I don't think any of their owner's will care. I think the $18000 price is :bs: but I think they will have a waiting list for them.

As far as comparing a VFR to a VROD, if anyone thinks a VROD handles as good or anywhere near as good as a VFR, there are two possible explanations for this.

    1) That person doesn't know how to ride so anything will impress them.

    2) They have really low standards.

I'm seriously considering that I'll keep my VFR - even though I'll be purchasing a Street Glide or Road King (both Harley's) next summer. Different worlds, different rides - is correct and noteworthy! Besides - I luv my viffer.
    Have fun!

Very true personally think it looks very muscular in its ugliness and may attract others by its uniqueness. Mind at the price of 18K USD is a bit steep and will probably much more by the time it gets here so with a 1098S and RC45 will need to pencil it in on my " 10 bikes to get when I win the National Lottery list "

Hey another cruiser/sportbike guy! I resemble that remark. Kinda Dr. Jeckle and Mr Hyde. A couple summers ago when I had my viffer down for all my mods, I was cruiser only - and not a fully happy camper. I'll never do that again!

Showed the new VMax picture to a work mate who owned one in the early '90's. He was based with the Australian Airforce in Northern Territory at the time and rekonned the VMax mixed with the NT's perfectly straight unlimited speed Highways was a match made in Heaven.

I would keep the VFR and get the V-Rod. Check out the night rod special. It caught my eye a few months ago. I'm putting that one on the wish list. Haven't had the chance to check it out in person yet though. In the end you gotta do what makes you happy.

I rode one a few weeks back. There are no words to adequately describe the feeling of torque this machine provides. It felt like I had a gas turbine engine in it. It's not as fast as a sport bike, it just feels like it can rip trees out of the ground. It is, however, butt freaking ugly & weighs as much as a baby elephant.

I will be honest, I can't stand Harley Davidson, but I have heard nothing but good things about the Vrod. Of course the engine was designed by Porsche because nobody at Harley would even know where to start with an engine that is powerful and can meet emissions without being strangled.

In that class of bike though, I like the Victory stuff better. Bottom line though...buy what YOU like, your the one thats got to ride it.
